I'm in the Cayenne... someone point me to the brake controller terminal
Can you guys point me to the OEM terminal hook up for the makeshift VW wiring harness? I'll be using a Draw-Tite Activator 2.
I'm in the vehicle now and don't see an obvious OEM hook up for the brake controller.
I do see an area of grey foam (as mentioned in other posts), but everything feels rather secure in this area. Is this grey foam area where the terminal is located? Time to start cutting wire ties and unwrapping stuff in this area?
In honor of Larry, "I'm going IN!"

On a SLIGHTLY more serious note, I've re-read Larry's last will and testament (actually it's also available on DVD) and your best bet is to simply look on the left side, near the parking brake, for the mating 4 pin connector.
It will be tie wrapped to something, but that something is not consistent from technician to technician from MY to MY.
It's there, you'll find it.

Ok, with Dell's help... I found it. The wiring in the '06 is a bit different. The OEM harness comes off of a different bundle but it was still wrapped in grey foam.
However, there's another PROBLEM.
I can feel the end of the OEM harness and it's crammed up into the dash wedged between some components that I'm currently trying to PRY apart enough to get the harness free.
"Man down, but the team fights on!"

See, I told you that you needed the 05 and it had to be technician Gustaf not Olaf on the 06 model. Mine was right there facing me. Gustaf has a twisted sense of humor. Needless to say I have the 05 model put together by Olaf, the polite twin

Prying didn't work and dismantling the dash is too much work.
I'm going to try a little Boy Scout twine action next... stay tuned.
Where are my meds?

Believe it or not, it's hard to find any reference to the connector in factory documentation (noteL PCNA parts are not available, hence the requirement to use VW parts.....oh wait, it IS a VW, never mind......even harder to find documentation regarding the 7 pin trailer connector.......and harder still to find anything regarding electrical loads/lights.
This just in from Larry from beyond the grave:
Memo to PCNA: K!ss my A$$.
We now return you to your normally scheduled Cayenne forum boredom.
