Buying an 06, Looking for input.
Hi. I posted last week about ordering an '08 w/ manual tranny. While searching local dealer lots I found what I think would be the perfect car based on our ability to negotiate price. A local dealer has a Pearl white/Tan leather '06 demo with 2,400 miles and a six speed manual transmission. (no Nav).
Normally I would never consider the color combination for just myself, but my wife would probably drive this car 80% of the time, and she just loves the look. Being from northern Europe, she also prefers the manual transmission, and had all but set her heart on the BMW X3 because of the limited selection of manuals in this segment.
My question is; What should we expect to end up paying for this particular vehicle? I'm aware of the '06-'08 issue, as well as the fact that this car is a demo (never titled), and has what many would consider the undesirable motor/transmission combination.
I plan on beating up the dealer on price to make this worthwhile. With all the '06 CS's and CTT's out there, this would have to be a heck of a deal to really make it a no-brainer. I'd appreciate all of your thoughts.
Thanks, -Mike

well.....
if you must, i would say low 40's, how low depending on the other equipment. look on autotrader, beverly hills porsche has several V6s demos listed in this range. the other thing you could try on pricing is take 25/75*(your car's price) and see what you get.
if you are serious about keeping the car for a while, i would do a deal where the dealer took it out of his new inventory, and then sold it to you as a used, thereby allowing you to get the CPO warranty. OTOH, they way porsche has treated me, i would say their CPO is worth exactly the paper it's printed on, unless you happen to be a lawyer.
