Default new Pcar in the stable

Finally pulled the trigger on trading in her X5 for a new SUV
and picked up a new titanium silver 06 Cayenne V-6!

It is a very nice ride, it has a tad more power than the X5 had, and it drives much better than the X5 did, and that is saying alot cause the X5 was a great truck. The 6 is nice amd smooth, and the tiptronic tranny is quite fun to shift from the steering wheel. It is much better then the BMW steptronic was to shift on the fly. It has about the same storage room as the X5 did, and was about 15 grand cheaper than the new X5 to boot!

Got a pretty good deal from beverly hills porsche. They had 6 they were trying to clear for the new 08's, and they were ready to deal.

We got the tow package, full leather, privacy glass, heated seats, dual climate control, variable assist steering, moonroof, aluminum interior trim. Only 2 options that it didnt have that I wanted were nav and the turbo 18" wheel package. The 18's will definitely come soon as the tires on the stock 17's have BIG aspect ratios 265/60 IIRC. They are a bit bouncy.

this gives me an excuse to get over here from the Boxster forum where I normally hang out

Congratulations! Interesting comments about the Cayenne v. X5 ... what was the engine displacement of the X5 you had?

Congrats on new Cayenne. 18 or even 19" stock wheels are easily available on ebay, as are various aftermarket nav. Need to see pictures of both your Porsches!

Awesome, I also just bought a cayenne S from beverly hills porsche. Have had it for about one week now. Just put on the roof transport system. I got a brand new 06 model.
How was your buying experience and what did you think of their customer service. I got a great deal but I am very disappointed with their service. Was not treated as I would expect from a "beverly hills" and "porsche," dealership. My salesman did not even go through the car with me after purchase. If it wasn't for the deal I would have not bought from them.

Funny- we just bought a new '06 and were comparing to the X5 (which we would have bought used). I thought the Cayenne has more interior space than the X5, which seemed smaller than I would have expected on the inside (about the same space as my 5 series sedan...)

thanks guys. I will get some pics up asap. It definitely drives better than the X5. We had a 3.0l 2002 X5 with the sport package and the 18's. I thought it drove very nicely, but the Cayenne tops it with no doubt in my mind. Handles better, feels quicker, looks better.

I was at the BH Porsche with wifey and my 10 yr old, and our experience was really, very good I must say. Our salesman, although young, was very well versed in customer service. We were well attended to, shown all the 06's they had, and we made a very straight forward deal, (almost) haggle free. It was obvious they wanted to move the 06's. The kid was polite to a tee and was never pushy. He even suggested we go to lunch at the nearby Cheesecake Factory to think their offer over. We did, had a great lunch, and came back and made the deal.

We got the full tour of the car as well upon checkout, and our salesman took his time showning us the operation of all the controls.

Our treatment was on a par with that at several BMW dealerships we have purchased from, easily.

Did they pay for the lunch at the Cheesecake Factory?
