Default My new Cayenne S Facelift - impressions and pics

Hi all!

Picked up my Cayenne S yesterday afternoon

A lot of equipment - but I had no chance - because I´ve got a presentation car :

- Black metallic
- Full leather black
- Tiptronic S
- BiXenon
- Parkassist
- PCM
- Skibag
- Telephone
- Servotronic
- Privacy – Glass
- Heated front seats
- Multifunction steering wheel
- Tempostat
- Autom. Tailgate
- 21” Cayenne Sport wheels
- Bose
- Sport seats
- PASM
- PDCC
- Panoramic roof
- PSE
- Trailer hitch

My first impressions:

Car is great – I will not miss my 997 – for sure
Ride comfort is a little harsh with 21” – even with PASM in comfort setting but softer than with my former 997 with 19”. PDCC is noticeable but I do not know if it is worth the colossal money ( may be I will see areason after a few more miles ).
Switched on PSE sitting inside the car is not a big difference to switched off. But outside it is really a difference ( and even more after burn in/out the pipes ). You can here it for sure. My family thought that I returned back from the pick-up date with my old 997 hearing my arriving from inside the house

Automatic tailgate is a great feature but what a pitty that closing is only possible by pushing the tailgate button and not by remote control ( for reasons of safety ).
Panoramic roof is also great – not so much for the driver ( you cant see it during driving ) – but for my son it´s great ( “look all these stars” – yesterday evening on the first family drive ).

Overall driving with a Cayenne is much more relaxative than with a 997

And here a few pics – shot by really bad weather conditions ( cloudy ) except of the first – shot at the dealership:

Hmmmm... what a pitty : too less posts for posting pics message received

May be later

Best
Gregor

The sport exhaust sounds soooooo good on the V8s. I wish I would have made some recording of it

Hi all!

Here is short video of the PSE ( first half off - second half on ) during the Cayenne presentation on Saturday.

PSE video

The difference is not very noticeable but the person who did accelerated didn´t really understood what I wanted

Gregor, congrats on new Cayenne S. Where are you located?

We have the Cayenne Launch this coming Saturday. Will go check it out. Likely will upgrade to Cayenne Turbo...

Very nice Gregor. I got to see an S with the Sport Exhaust in Saarbrücken this past Saturday and that dual pipe setup really looks good.
Maybe I will see you when I get to HD country next week. I will be in a Basalt Black Turbo with US plates.

I have both a 997 and a Cayenne, which really compliment each other. I could not have a 997 as my only car. Just doesn't hold enough, not good for bad weather, etc. I take it your in Germany from your pics? Oh to be turned lose there with any Porsche.

I find the 997 to be much more relaxing then it's 911 predecessors. It is much more of a touring car. But if your going to have just one car the Cayenne is a good choice.

I don't think there would be to much disagreement in that statement. The 997 is more refined than the 996, 993, etc. Trading in your 997 on a Cayenne and saying that you won't miss it might stir up lively disscusion though.
