I think non-PASM actually gives the CS a more "sporty" ride. So, if you are not doing any towing and like that sportier feel, I'd say nix the PASM.

Lewis or anyone else who has a good feel for both, where does the stiffness of a non-PASM car fall with respect to the comfort and sport settings on a PASM car. From what I gather, it is in the middle.

I own a non-PASM and have driven a PASM vehicle... the SPort mode feels like mine all the time. The Comfort mode is great, very comfortable for cruising even with 20's on the CTT.

Dave,

Get the Cayenne S with PASM - take it from a fellow 997'er...

I got a Tit.S with PASM.. and it is a huge difference in ride in the comfort setting. I ride with it in comfort most of the time and then click down to sport if I'm having fun on a windy two lane. However, caveat here is I intend to keep it until 100K so after reading about early PASM issues, and also my own experience with "naked" ownership, I bought a 7 yr. 100K ext. warranty through the dealer (see old threads about Hawaii and ext. warranties not purchased through the dealer).

You can't CPO your own car through the dealer can you? I'd think about that but my dealer has never DPO'ed any Porsche (they are also a Pontiac Subaru GMC dealer and I think you get the picture).
Wouldn't I have to technically sell it them and rebuy it back with the CPO? When I asked them about doing a CPO (if my brother in law wanted to buy it for example) they essentially didn't have a clue...How'd you do it madfox??

Default PASM.....

i will say that the PASM is one of the few areas of the car that i have yet to have a problem with, and i don't believe i would want one without it. the self leveling and ride ht adjustment are, IMHO, worth it, and it would appear, from current reports, assuming that they don't "improve" it (have i qualified this enough?) that it works ok at the moment.

delete the nav, forget about the wheels, get the longer warranty (but don't expect it to help), but get the PASM.

Not CPO.. straight ext. warranty through the dealer's finance office. Negotiated the price on that as well as it has high commission.. Like the CPO there are some exclusions but all in all.. it beats paying for a cardan shaft or coils etc.

Well peeps, as it turns out we're getting the non-PASM vehicle. Thanks for all of the input (as always).
I figure without air suspension just leaves me with one more rationalization to trade up for a CTT in 4 years.

Of course, I'll be posting pics in a few days when I pick up the car.

Hey non-PASM is fine.. went 3.5 years and it still rode pretty well but could be harsh at times for my wife.. but there is a definite difference in the comfort mode etc. and lastly, at least you don't have to worry about PASM faults.. although so far so good for me in the Tit.S.... 3.5 months and nearing 6K no warnings.. no problems at all.. totally different first few months experience than my Beta..
