I would appreciate any feedback on this issue ive been having lately on my 2004 (MARCH 05 build) Cayenne Turbo. As you brake the vehicle to standstill the Rpm drops and the engine acts like its going to stall then comes back to norm. What can be causing this? i havent had this issue since i bought the car new in 2005. The local porsche dealer couldnt find a fault and says its normal although i seriously doubt it. I also have the car shuddering at low rpm/speeds on the 5th gear. They just noticed a misfiring in 4 cylinders and changed the ignition coils on 4 of them but i really doubt this rpm drop while braking is normal, what can i tell them to check? thanks in advance for your help.
While a good diagnosis is the only way to know for sure, I just had a vehicle with an identical complaint that was fixed by replacing a faulty cam adjuster solenoid. I'm sure it's something that was checked, but as always, look for cracks on those high quality coils as well.
we usualy replace coils in sets of 8s now days to avoid cars coming back
nect step is to check fuel pressure, 4.0 +/- .1 if they are low YOu may have fuel pump issues, i ve seen them if its high it will casue issues to and is most likely the regulator (casued by fuel pump failure usually )
after that your into rocket science and i really dont have to do that on 05-06 cars
but fwiw i would contact porsche and tell them your concerns, is there another dealer you can go to , theres nothing worse then a customer telling me how to do my job and usually those customers dont get the extra mile out of me
Unfortunately we only have one dealer here and i have to deal with him if i like it or not. At least if i give him the info, he will know where to look instead of telling me "This is normal operation!" i wonder how it can be normal since i never had this problem before.
