Porsche coolant the same as Audi V8 coolant?
Just wondering as I know this guy, who pulled the wrong hose on his CTT and dumped a bunch of coolant out of his car... So, in a fit of panic, he added some coolant for an V8 S4 engine. Seems to be working, but he "thinks" the coolant temp now seems to flucuate a bit more. That said, he is also a little sensitive to the issue.
Is there an easy way to drain the coolant, so that he can add the over priced Pcar stuff to ward off dealer issyes, or is this nothing to worry about?
Friend of a slow DIYer...

He could crack open his manual and see what the coolant spec is then go down to the local AutoZone (or whatever) and buy the proper coolant...... It never ceases to amaze me what people will do to their $100K vehicles simply because they are too lazy or too incompetent to RTFM.

Thanks for the advice, next time, keep it to yourself.
BTW, he did and he also called the porsche/audi head of service that said it would be fine. Just thought he would get a second opinion....

You baited us here with incomplete information in the hopes you could get tertiary confirmation of a fact you already knew to be true.
As for this:

2022 Spec is G40 or VW G12++

I looked deeply in the manual of our 2022, page 277, coolant is specified as Glysantin G40 or, alternatively, VW G12++.
VW doesn't sell G12 anymore; they've moved on to G13. FCP Euro (and the dealer) state that G13 is backwards compatible to G12.
The color is the same. I would assume that VW G13 is compatible with Porsche G40.

You will be perfectly fine adding G13 to your current mix as long as you know that factory coolant was used previously (and not some random coolant from the local auto store). Technically this chart is VAG focused but it's applicable to Porsche:
This is what I've used recently in my Audis and Porsches: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/aud...3a8jm1#fitment
A big advantage of G13 over the earlier coolants is that it is glycerin based instead of glycol based and has greatly reduced toxicity, making it safer to keep in the garage for those who have pets (and little kids).

The VW MSDS is for the 50/50 ready-mix, so of course the figure is half. (You're paying VW or Porsche prices for water).
