Question Dealer incentives/kickbacks from Porsche...

Anyone know what kind of monies the dealers are being fed right now by Porsche to move all the Cayennes? I heard as much as 10K. It would be nice to know for sure...

Not aware of any factory incentives. Cayenne sales are still fairly strong especially considering the fact that everyone knows a refreshed model will be here in less than a year.

Consider these numbers for May 2006:
Listed as Month to date 2005 vs 2006 and Year to date 2005 vs 2006
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cayenne Tiptronic 408 536 2028 2249
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cayenne 4 8 33 29
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cayenne S 473 505 2210 2190
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cayenne Turbo 63 219 367 964
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cayenne Turbo S 83 0 311 0
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ALL CAYENNE 1031 1268 4949 5432

Hmmm.... my premier dealer has 4 brand new 2005's on his lot and another 12 2006's to boot so they can't be flying out the door that fast. Gotta be some programs in place or soon to be on the way. Anyone else...

I'd say 10% off MSRP is easy... 15% a possibility. I've seen plenty of '06 CS @ 70K that the dealer's doing 62k-63k.

For all the talk about Cayenne sales dropping, the numbers don't really show it. For a four year old model with a refreshed version on the way, they are still selling quite well. In the Los Angeles area there are 8 dealers. There are only 2 new 2005's at 7 dealers. At Beverly Hills Porsche there is one 2004 and 12 2005's. Beverly Hills buys end of year cars from other dealers throughout the USA, so you can't really count their inventory. This is the same dealer that currently has two new 2001 Boxsters and three new 2001 911's.

Having said all of that, I would expect that you should be able to negotiate a decent discount on in stock Cayenne or Cayenne S models. I just don't think there is a factory incentive in effect at this time. You should be able to get a remaining 2005 for a few thousand below dealer cost.

Whoa...V6 with a stick is one rare beast. With production numbers that low, you might just want to pick one up and hold onto it as a collectible

No incentives according to edmunds.com, but agree with most of the comments above. Rather than negotiate for $ off MSRP, start the other way--$ above invoice...
