Well, I got the first phase of the hitch in...now the electrical. I did manage to find some parts of the workshop manual to help with the details of removing all that plastic to find the hole for the controller. We start that this weekend.
Thanks again all, especially Dell, forthe help.

Very welcome Jim
BTW, I did my install over the course of a week to keep my sanity. Thank God we have more than 2 cars to allow me to do hat! Lots of patience and lots of Grey Goose
Feel free to post up or PM me if you have any snags along the way.

Dell,
Finished the install on the electrical for the hitch, took 1:45 for the electrical portion, about 5 man-hours for the whole thing. Not bad and I learned alot about the car. I could probably knock it out again in 3 to 4 hours in the unlikely event I had to do it again.
How much did you have to pay the dealer to configure the computer for the new electrial?
Agian and again, thanks for the help.

....and your dealer shouldn't charge you anything either. If they do, they are robbing you. I would just suggest you swing by your dealer and say "hey, can you check really quick and see if my towing setting are still set to RoW v. US and if not select US!"
It's even easier if your car is in for anything under warranty and then call while it is in the back and as him the same thing.
Regardless, this is one of those "services" that SHOULD be gratis no matter what the relationship with the dealer is.

Dell,
The install is finally complete. The dealer did the computer thing for, as you suggested, free. My wife took the car in along with her book. Settled in for a long read...advisor comes out about two pages later,...Mrs. Harris the car is done. I towed a 2500 trailer with 1500 lbs of new lift...still 0 to 62 in 5.1. Thanks again for the help.

This may be a silly question:
My CS came with the trailer hitch option. Does having this option mean the vehicle has already been pre-wired for all the electricals or will I need to do this myself?
Thanks.

If you have the hitch already installed as an ordered option you are good to go! Just run by your dealer and make sure you are set to US not RoW settings for the towing module.

Somebody should probably ask/mention to twk63 about trailer lights and "!"....... I would but I no longer have any conscious or memory.
