...we thought about Cancun this year, but found that most of the resorts were still under re-construction from last summer's hurricane season... Hope all goes well for you!

I went to Playa Del Carmen over the holidays in December and early Jan. There was a lot of devestation from the hurricanes. Cancun and Cozumel really got hammered, and Playa was not hit quite as hard. Things should be geting better now--there was non-stop consturction and clean-up going on everywhere when I was there. Make sure you get the full story on the condition of your resort/hotel. There was some information that the travel agent conveniently ommitted when we went down--like, for instance, that the beach was just about completely washed away out on front of the place we were staying! Beautiful area, though. Check out the cenotes and do some snorkeling!

Playa is pretty much cleaned up. I know this becasue my brother in law recently moved there for real estate development work. Give Ikal Del Mar a look, it's about as sweet as it gets in this area! My wife an I went there for our honeymoon. http://www.ikaldelmar.com/home/

Looks very nice. Here is another option--the Playacar Palace, which is where we ultimately wound up spending the last several days of our vacation, was georgeous. They just completed the construction a week before we arrived there in Decemeber 2005. The site is:

Looks amazing! Wifey & I will probably go here next year, if a snowboarding trip to Vail doesn't take over during spring break! We usually alternate cold then warm then cold...

This year we wanted to party and play hard - Playa, visit the ruins, scuba, jet ski etc.
Ika looks very secluded and perfedt for a week or two of non stop lovin'!

Agreed on the silver script looks classy but then again, I've always favored log painted to body color.

Looks dead on. Nice

Even if it wasn't completely straight -you could always deflate two tires on one side to compensate!

Or just wait long enough to get the recall notice to replace the emblems and 'stainless' steel trim pieces and have the dealer do it.
