Question Gauge faces?

Question for anyone. I've noticed a coating of some sorts on the clear plastic gauge faces of my CS. It looks kind of like an oily substance, smears when I tried to wipe it off. I've tried to wipe it off with windex, it goes away for awhile and then it keeps reappearing, therefore I ask my fellow owners...WTF is this?

Faces are glass with an anti-reflective coating. Get anything on them, and you get that odd "oily" look; you get the same thing on anti-glare lens filters for 35mm cameras.

Best way to clean it, I have found, is to use a good lens cleaner (I use the same one I use on my sunglasses) and a microfibre cloth.

When I had the front windows tinted (very lightly) the installers accidentally sprayed some soapy water on the lenses which gave them the oily appearance you mention. After applying the lens clearner and wiping with the lens soft cloth, they sparkle again...Awesome tip...thanks!

Excellent! Thanks Gary. I guess Porsche thought of everything, well almost.
