The LD5500 is the laser detector/jammer that integrates with the K40.
The silver one is mine. My wife couldn't get rid of her BMW fast enough for the black Cayenne once she saw what she was missing. The install was her Valentine's day present.

Very sweet setup !! Have there been any "incidents" yet? How do you know if your jamming the swine hiding in the bushes? I think the turbo grill is perfect for this type of install...very sweet looking !!

I have an Uncle that is a Florida HP and he has tried to gun me on an open road, he said he could not get a thing untill I passed him, so I also put one on the rear. They really do work!

Are laser jamers legal ? If a cop can't "get anything", can he suspect you have a jammer and stop you ?

And if you get stopped, and you deny having a jammer, can you be booked for lying ?

In Florida my uncle says that radar jammers are illegal because they are regulated by the FCC, Laser jammers are not yet illegal because they are light sources and the FAA has no regulation on them YET!

Thanks - a local shop and I highly recommend them. I'm planning on having mine done in a couple weeks. It took two days for the install including the bass unit.

Yes. Its hers and she actually needed the K40 more than me.

To everyone reading this, I'm not promoting driving at unsafe speeds that put you, others or innocent animals at risk. The fact is most people travel the speed limit plus some rationalized margin they feel is safe and that they can get away with. I usually hold it to a maximum of 9 mph over the limit unless I'm passing someone. Most officers in our area would pass me by. Unfortunately, some town's budgets here are funded by speeding tickets. Two small towns (less than 2,000 people each) just North of me wrote over 50% of the speeding tickets in our state over the last 10 years adding millions to their annual budgets.

With that said, I have been using the Valentine 1 for about 6 months and have traveled repeatedly from Virginia through Vermont. I don't see integrating the V1 like the K40 without ripping the V1 apart.
So far I can tell you that they are nearly identical when detecting X, K, and Ka bands. We have frequent speed traps between home and work including one of the stationary "Your Speed IS ..." signs. We've had detections on both the V1 and the K40 LD5500 for laser. My wife thinks the jammer worked one time for her so far (it gave the laser alarm and she slowed down without getting a ticket).
The V1 is slightly better in hilly areas and around turns but I think that is mainly due to the higher placement on the vehicle relative to the K40. The bogey count on the V1 is a plus (especially when a trap is set within a known false alarm area). The V1 has many more false alarms (V1 advanced logic mode compared to K40 highway mode). I had to turn the V1 off going around NY city and Hartford, CT. After using both, I'm switching to the K40 and LD5500+ in my CT.
