Default Homelink Retrofit Kit? Who's Interested?

Hey Guys,

I know I posted this about 3-4 months ago. There was plenty of talk, but no final results. My homelink that I retrofitted has worked perfectly for the last 4 months.

How many of you would be interested in a Homelink Retrofit Kit? I think I can produce the kits for about $349 complete...with NO CUTTING OR SPLICING of the OEM wiring.

Just as an FYI...the control module from Porsche for Homelink is over $400 for JUST the module...plus you still need to buy the Buttons, Switch Plate, and Switch Control.

There are 2 different ways to install it.

1. Garage Door Opener is always on - Installation is fully done overhead with 1 splice for power.
2. Garage Door Opener is ONLY on when the key is turned on - must run a wire down the A Pillar to the Fuse Box. ($25 More)

If there is enough interest...I'll make them available for sale.

Thanks,

Parag

A Rennlist sponsor, Gert, sells these kits. I think most folks buy from him, I did.

Actually I'd like a retrofit kit for the GT3- already have it in the Cayenne. Would it work for the 996?

skl,
Here is the Cayenne Homelink retrofit kit:
http://www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx_p55033.htm
As you can see, it comes with all the plastic bits for the overhead console in a Cayenne, so it wouldn't work very well in a 9x6.

IIRC, someone in one of the 9x6 forums (I can't remember which) found a Homelink visor solution (most cars have the 3 button transmitter in the driver side visor). All they had to do is tap/run power up to the visor. A bit of searching should find it.

I completely understand that Gert, a Rennlist Sponsor offers a Homelink Retrofit for about $650US. My kit, which works and operates 100% identically is almost half the price at $349. I have contacted Rennlist to become a sponsor.

If the 996 has a Homelink option from the factory, then we could do a retrofit.

Thank You,

Parag
