Post Bi Xenon

I have had a number of people in front of me stop me at traffic lights and complain that I have been flashing them. I can see the problem, the beam appears high so when I drive over a bump this throws the beam momentarily into their car causing them to think I’ve flashed them. Has anyone else had this problem and can I adjust the height of the beam.

Thanks

it is normal, there is a cop here who pulled over my friend in his X5 4.4i because the cop was thinking that he high beamed him. The cop pulled him over, shouted at him and my friend explained how bi-xenon works and he did not seem to understand and gave him a warning. Smart? not very...

don´t know much about it, but as DEETZ said, its most probably normal, because of the height of the car, and like the xenon has auto height adjustment, you can´t do anything to it.. :S

Its the sharp cutoff of the top of the beam. Since the light coming out of the projector is so defined and uniform, when you hit a bump the beam goes up then back down. Since the cutoff is so sharp, it looks like a flash since there isnt light already hitting the mirrors and rear window like a traditional halgen reflector setup would have with the much less defined and accurate beam.

(did I make any sense?)

its the nature of the xenon light being projected out of the lens, very sharp cutoff, so it can go from direct light to no light very quickly, note the cutoff at the top of the light spectrum on the road, very sharp, unlike halogen bulbs

The prior posts are correct.

Or, it may be that the headlights are out of adjustment. The dealership can check this and correct it, if required.

Also because of the stiff suspension, whe you hit bumps, unlike other SUV's our Cayennes tend to bounce lot faster and with strong lights like the bi-xenons making it seem as a quick flash.
