Poor Floor Heating? Anyone else?
I searched the site and another and have not seen anyone mention this. I had forgotten about this "problem" from last winter as I'm in the south and we had warm weather until this past week.
Last year, I felt that the floor heating was insufficient and had the dealer check it out and they said it was all operating correctly. On cold mornings or days for the matter, after the car heats up and even if you force heat to the floor it never seems to be warm much less hot. Had a two hour trip back/forth over two days in sub-freezing weather and the footwells on both driver/pax side never really generated warm air.
Has anyone else noticed this issue? Car is an 04 Cay S bought May '03? Dealer copped out on this last year.. has been a great dealership in all other areas? Do you think I have an issue or is everyone's "widdle toes" cold too? I personally, like forcing the hot air over the feet on cold days instead of using main vents due to the fact that I wear contacts. Help? Suck it up or problem?

OK today I ran a test at 12 degrees outside. I do not feel its cold but in accordance with standard practice for heat distribution in a car which always has a lower temp at the feet.
If your tootsies are cold, lower the heating control cover and hit the down arrow as per the manual they will get nice and toasty.
Or see about your bad circulation problem :-)
If it does not do this ask the dealer about the service action on the ac controller.

Okay, I'm not nuts either, JARO! I had them look at it once and it checked out "fine". I have a GREAT dealer but felt they didn't really look.. so asked again and they said it was working okay.. but it was after tire issues where they had taken a "joy ride" and it was warm.. We've been cold in the south this past week and I'm convinced either the A/C is on at the same time or there is something wrong.. and can't believe it but my rear a/c-heat doesn't put out squat either! Mudman2, would the AC Controller issue affect heat since the a/c is OFF? My "tootsies" had no issues today.. 12 where you were.. 71 in AL/Ga today!

Well perhaps, but the air is never off really. My ac controller was replaced with a new one for a service action a couple of months ago, you can tell it now has a black door. I do not have this problem for sure.

Is your CayS an 03 or 04? I didn't have a recall on the AC that I can think of... but I'm serious I can have max heat come out the dash vents and switch to all feet and it pump out COLD air even when the car is warmed up and this baby warms up pretty fast anyways..
JORO same for you? I may take this post to my dealer..

Madfox, same exact here...switch the controls to blow air jus tto the floor and nothng jus tlittle cold air..max vent etc...next to nothing on the back and cold dead air in the fron on both sides. with AC on or off. I has been way below zero here in Chicago over last 3 weeks and now we are in blizzard conditions...I'm taking the car in on Monday to have the handles replaces and continue to complain about a nasty metalic noise from rear wiper.. I'll complain big time about this one. Let me know what you hear from your guys.....

Hey Joro, the nasty metallic noise may be when you open you're glass hatch (I love this option when we're loaded up and need to throw one more thing in) and not the tail-gate, the mechanism to drive the rear wiper (to get all that snow off your back!) is not re-seated (by design) when you close the hatch so when you turn it on for the first time post opening the hatch it will reseat, clunk very noisily and then re-seat and go back to the start position and operate normally.. the techs at my dealer think that it will wear out over time (years).. but state that it is "normal" and is written up in tech notes from PCNA.. just fyi if this is what it is doing.. on the lack of heat.. I'm going to go back and have this looked at seriously .. especially when people like mudman2 say their "tootsies" are getting hot! please advise what you hear next week. thanks.

the clunk occurs everytime the rear wiper arm is in the middle of the window...it almost sounds like it is hitting a metalic part internally.....they replaced a part they thought was defective and this still happens...pretty annoying....hatch unlocking mechanism is another story...it has been ordered as it continues to unlock my rear latch so they disconnected it from power supply and part is on the way and maybe in and will be replaced monday with the door handles....

it sounds like to me if this is recent then yes indeed you have had it break as my guys said it would because the metal to metal re-seat is pretty rough on a rocker arm design like the rear glass hatch wiper is.. how many miles do you have on your S since you're an 03? are you considering the ext. warranty? I'm a little concerned about some of this stuff 4-5 years from now.. I really was thinking of keeping this 10 years and then giving it to one of my kids.. thoughts? mudman2 same question?

I actually researched extended warranty deals anout there and the reputation of various companies and by far the best is the deal I describe below. They have various plans and are the least expensive ones. Delaers do it via a 3rd party and it does not cover as much....I have 17k on mine so will purchase in another year or so.
1.$3K for 7YR./100K mi. without deductable via AllState Ins. Co. 2.$100.00 deductible per occurrence!
3. look them up at 1sourceautowarranty.com or call (888) 905-5700. They are out of Greenwood Village, CO.
looks like the place is legit. http://www.webassured.com/c/Business....cfm?ID=501496

looks like 1st source is a exclusive warranty provider of EBay Motors and Yahoo Motors and a member of the BBB. Good reviews on the web

I have the same floor heat issue. My wife won't ride in my car unless it is completely warm. Her LExus GX470 heats up twice as fast as my pepper and has floor heat within a minute or two. I am having my in this week to replace the radio (had amp replaced twice already) and will ask them to check out ths follr heat issue as well.

I had this too. I hit the recirculation button and the heat output on my 2004 CS jumped dramatically. I thought I was crazy as well, but it is nothing like my 03 Explorer (please not crap about 2 SUV's).
Try the recirc button and see what it does.

I've tried recirc.. still didn't help.. also a/c on/off auto/manual.. it just plain puts out cold air through the floor even when warmed up it is cooler than the air out of the vents.. really weird..
