2) 04 CT new, roof rails, rear AC, aluminum look interior trim, electric package, 18" wheels - $80,700

new one
I would definitley go for the new one. The wood wheel and trim would cost you a grand aftermarket, and the leather in the CT's is perfect, soft look or not. You get a lot more peace of mind breaking it in yourself, and its flawless when you get in it. But maybe colors will sway you the other way...
The deal on the new one seems right, but the one with 5500 miles can probably handle being discounted further...

[QUOTE=BobbyB]Getting ready to sell my LX and buy a CT but Ineed some help. QUOTE]
The LX is nice, but great choice on crossing over to the Porsche CT!! Would you consider rolling the LX off a cliff ?? or jump out the window while driving 80 on the highway ? It will be much more fun than selling it
FYI..I moved over from a Jeep and considered the above options to get rid of mine as quick as possible...LOL
On the more serious side:
I agree with the other posts that the used Cayenne with miles on it should be discounted further even from a dealer. My opinion would be to not jump on the first deal you see....shop around and get the one you really want !! I was in the same position as this and I am sure glad I waited to find the one I really had in mind. Dont get too excited and settle for anything when purchasing a 100k vehicle !! There will be years of big grins afterwards if you do your deal correctly
So here was my tactic to finding my new monster:
1) Start with the link here and find all dealers in a 100 or even 200 mile radius http://www.porschedealer.com/dealer/index.php
2) Go to each of their sites and click the link at the top NEW CARS then click on the CAYENNE SERIES picture
3) Review the inventory at that dealer and if you like one that they have call to speak with the sales manager regarding the VIN from the website and ask what price they are looking to sell it for.
4) Fax them your lowest offer including the VIN and then go and see the car and see if you can come to an agreed price and cross your fingers.
Explainging that you will be paying via certified check will give you a little more leverage as well IMO.
Below is my deal that I picked up last few days of October. This vehicle was brand new from the dealer and still had the shipping plastic on it....PM me if you need more information. Keep in mind that Porsche vehicles have higher dealer markup of 8-10% compared to all other vehicles on the road. (As per leaseguide.com) So if you shop around some dealer will be getting hungry near the end of the month which is a good time to snag one

The forrest looms so large sometimes you miss the trees.... Thanks to all.
Tim, great advice and following that advice I'm looking all over.
The selection of 04 CT's is a little slim, at least with all the options I want - but the search goes on and there are a couple of NEW contenders -
Is there a fan for the heater/AC for the rear passengers like on the BMW's or is the only option rear air?

My $.02 would be find one without the wood wheel. These cold mornings I enjoy the heated wheel. I had looked in earnest for a CT that had all of the options and the one 150 miles away had the wood wheel. My dealer looked into the possibilty of switching the leather/heated wheel for the wood and they discovered that the wiring is not in place for the heat with the wood wheel.
