This thread makes me wish I kept my gen 1 turbo. After 12 years of ownership and too many Porsche's I let it go and still regret it.
Did anyone read this written by Ilko?

My '05 base with nearly 180k miles has been throwing a CEL for a while. The truck runs fine, so I did the right thing and ignored it. I had my code reader out the other day and out of curiosity I plugged it into the Cayenne to see what the fuss was about. The motor's never had serious work - just plugs and coils - so I figured it was probably evap related and that I'd end up having to replace a bunch of intake parts.
Nope: One code for the passenger side downstream O2 sensor, which might mean a bad sensor or a failing cat. No biggie. I reset it and I've been driving for a few days with no CEL.
Also: My PSM fail light is on, so probably a bad sensor in one of the wheels. I'll troubleshoot that when it warms up.
I love this stupid thing.
I was thinking about replacing it when it got to 200k miles, but since I'm working from home now and will likely continue to do so until I retire, I have no idea if I'll ever get to that many miles. I might have my Cayenne for the rest of my life! I might even be buried in it.

Add us to the list of happy owners. We just completed our first year and 10k miles on our 2010 Base and its been flawless. I have really grown fond of it and more importantly our daughter absolutely adores it. Perfect car for a teenager other than the atrocious insurance costs .

This is a great thread - I'm glad someone started it. We've now put over 40K on our 2006 CTT. There have been some mechanical "challenges", but they just add to the character. It has been to the Arctic Circle (and back), off-roading in Moab and did the Cannonball Run in 34:59 - without missing a beat. We bought it as an "Adventure Vehicle", and it has delivered every time. We're looking forward to many more miles of adventure in the Flying Pig.
