Default Overhead Console Switched Power?

Hello Guys,

I was doing a Homelink retrofit and a V1 Hardwire install. Does anyone know where I can get switched power in the overhead console area? I have found plenty of always on power...but cannot seem to locate a switched power.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Parag

It doesn't have a location for the overhead power.

Thanks,

Supplier for what?

I made the Homelink myself...

And the V1....not sure what who to ask.

I have metered every wire up there...I found one that seemed to be good...but it must be light related...

Thanks,

Parag

Just to sum it up.

I couldn't find any power in the overhead console.

So I ran a wire down to the driver's side fuse box. I removed the A Pillar cover to ensure proper wiring so it did not interfere with the airbags.

All is done now! My Homelink works perfect, and my V1 is hardwired.

Thanks,

Parag

Hi Parag, How did you remove the A pillar trim? Just a pull out or any clips? I hard wired an Escort X50 down the passenger side trim. Any pics??

It's not fun...

I'm very used to BMW...so I'm not "scared" to break things...

But...pry out the little ABS plastic logo...

Then remove the star screw...

Then yank on the whole pillar towards the opposite A pillar....after you hear 2 pops...for the 2 plastic rivets.....carefully pull out the piece.

It is NOT fun to put it back in....just reverse the directions...

Good Luck,

Parag
