Question Two Noise Questions on My New CS

Just Got my 2005 CS last week. Got a PSM Failure Workshop 20 miles after leaving the dealer. Take it back, and got it back after three days. Problem fixed. Now after driving CS for three days, have questions about two noises I heard. I wonder are these noises nomal? Does anyone experience this?

First, everytime I step on the gas, I hear a somewaht high pitch whining noise accompanied with the engine sound. I let go the gas pedal, the noise goes away. So, I mean if I am acceralating, that noise come out. Is this normal?

Second, after pulling cs out of garage, changing from reverse to drive, CS moves and I can hear one clunk noise from the bottom of the car. Then I won't get that clunk noise until next start.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Is the whining noise coming from your stereo speakers? My 03 CS has done that before on very rare occasions. I think the clunk that you hear is something that is normal and it's usually when the vehicle shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear after the first start of the day. I hear it every morning as I'm pulling away from my house.

TMM, I don't think the whining noise come from speaker, since the zzz... sound comes out when pressing gas pedal. I start to wonder if the noise generate by fuel injection system. You stated "the clunk that you hear is something that is normal and it's usually when the vehicle shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear after the first start of the day", that is what I got. I wonder why?
Thanks for the thoughts.

check for the "clunk" sound next time. I get it every morning since the tranny is cold the CS actually starts the first forward motion in the morning in 1st gear....NOT 2nd. After that, all other forward motions the CS stars in 2nd gear. Good Luck!

The Cayenne starts in 1 when cold to warm the cats up fast. the clunk is from 1 to 2 not 2 to 3.

Thanks. So, the clunk noise is normal for CS right?

Also, I called dealer asking about the first noise I described. They informed me right away Porsche has service bulletin for that already, something to do with "air vent??". Anyway, repair service scheduled for next week.

Well I always drive slowly for the first 30 - 40 yds out of the drive way then there is no clunk.
