Default Running boards for Cayenne: worth installing?

Hey, was wondering how many of you have installed the running boards or are considering doing so? Do you think they improve the look of the Cay or not?
I also thought of the Rocker guards? Any thoughts?

I have seen three or four examples of the running boards and didn't like any of them. Only put them on if you have a need for them. They provide a step to assist entering the truck for some people. That's not really needed in most cases. The Cayenne's not that high. They also have some built in rocker protection but, if you need that, the Rocker Guard looks better. So, this will be the third vote for .... Tacky.

Clean? Well ... I don't know, I'm not really into the clean thing, you know. OK, I'll see if I can find something. Yes, here's something that may work. Is this clean enough?

yes this is clean enough...did you get these after the purchase? did you get a good deal on them? Did your dealer install them and how much did they charge you?

I doubt I got the BEST deal available. I bought them from my local dealer and had the dealer install them. I did get a 10% PCA discount. I prefer to give the local dealer the business though, even when it runs a little more. It creates goodwill. I would recommend you have a dealer install them or else research it thoroghly before installing yourself. There are some tricky blind rivets to deal with on this install.

thanks.. I agree... My dealer just opened his showroom alongside their MB counterpart and they are redoing the whole place to make it look like a Porsche dealership and the techs there look a bit bored looking to do things..I'm getting a deal of $1800 installed! Wanted to see them live installed but no cars avaliable.
Also thinking of the skid plates for rear and front..

I don't know about the rear skidplate. You can see my front stainless steel skidplate in the photos above. I also have the engine steel skidplate. That's an easy self-install.

Yes. And the easy self-install is the engine protective plate, not the front stainless steel. I hear that one is more problematic.
