Default Tire Pressure Monitor sensors

Anyone know where I can get a set of sensors for the Cayenne TPMS. I would like to put them on another set of wheels. Any issues? Thanks.

Ensure that the sensors are the correct frequency for the vehicle, two different frequencies are available.

How do you find out which frequency w/o removing the rubber from the wheels that came with the sensors?

Pass on them, they are a PITA. Had them on my first car but deliberately left them off my second one..the only option I deleted.

They are with the truck I decided to purchase locally. Seemed cool on the test drive watching the pressure rise when the tires heated. I suppose if I change to wheels w/o sensors, the vehicle will function normally, I hope, like no warning lights other than when bringing up the TPMS screen. There you would expect to see an error.

TPMS IS GREAT. I have sensors in my OZ canyons and my 18" snows. You have to order from a Porsche dealer. I got them from suncoast. Give them your VIN# and they can get the right frequency.

I got the OZs from tirerack. I did the 20" sizing. If you go to my website http://www.leonoff.net you will find a Cayenne link. In it are pictures of the TPMS sensors and my OZ wheels.

I found getting all the tires to read the same pressures was next to impossible, even after using air and an accurate guage, and that was when travelling in a straight line. Cornering loads did not account for the difference, or sun on one side of the vehicle.

What would happen if I ordered a set of rims without the sensor mounted? Will I get an annoying flashing light on the dash?

I wonder the same thing. My winter wheels from my S don't have tpms. My guess: just an error when you bring up the tpms screen. No other extraneous lights on the dash...I hope???

You can disable the system to run without the sensors.

Just got my car tonight. Just started reading about the tpms. My guess, you can't be far off. I foresee the potential for annoyance. I did not order the car, so I am stuck with it. Did get the tow package however... (Good for towing the GT3 to the track)

You can turn the TPMS "on" or "off". If you have it "on" w/o a transducer on a given wheel, you'll get an error message.
FWIW, the system is pretty neat - I'd use it more "offroad" than "onroad", though.
