Im Sorry Jamy85 but your statement is truly false if you work with fiberglass or know about molding process and the materials used to make glass parts. What happens is many who copy use the cheapest materials and labor to cut costs on all aspects. Some do not test fit the parts before they mold in order to get the copy out there fast and be first to sell it. Like I said some original parts are a little off and require some work before painting. SO if you mold before test fitting and modifying, then that is why people have problems w/ replica kits.
Some use inferior products and cheap resins, some dont sand the mold, or prep the mold correctly when making multiple parts for sale. So the mold ends up getting more and more distorted. Some companies copy a copy of a copy, and so one. SO it could be a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th generation copy of copy.
Some people do not have the $7K to spend on original kits. If they both fit the same and you have proof of this and one is $1K vs $7K well u can ask yourself that.

2/. If someone can afford 100K for a Cayenne TT I would expect them to be able to afford a developed and tested aero kit from a reputable supplier.
3/. I have a personal problem with people copying other people's hard work. I know it goes on all the time but it still sucks. Some of the costs of these kits is research and development costs which the copiers do not have.
4/. Finally there is the old buyers warning. "You get what you pay for".

This is in response to Adrian, you hurt my feelings, J/K we are still friends I hope.
1. Nope Im not behind any company making copy. FOR ALL THOSE INTERESTED, Go to ebay there is a guy in Germany with Auction for $1000 US. Run a simple search in parts / Accessories on www.ebaymotors.com
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...e=STRK:MEWA:IT
Im intending to buy it and be test guinea pig. If any problems with fitment i can fix and make a new mold and offer to anyone if they want for really cheap price and nice quality and fit. If you want to order directly from this man, go right ahead its a free country! If anyone wants to wait until i get it in and test it out, go right ahead its a free country!
2. What some peoples value is for a certain product is totally up to them. I got my CAYS for $55K and Yes could i afford a $8K body kit, am I willing to pay NO way its absurd price IMO and a total rape for a basic lip spoiler kit which is probably not even urethane knowing German kits; usually they are glass w/ possibly Kevlar reinforced if you are lucky, (if it is urethane my bad i retract). If it makes u happy i will add some vents making it changed 15% and patent it as a new design which is totally possible these days with all the BS loopholes and they way things get filed.
3. Well obviously someone already made the copy and they are even in the mother homeland country where Porsche is born and where Techart HQ is I assume. Besides plenty wont argue if they save $7K. Money talks wthether your buying or selling. Still i agree with your statement and it sucks, Ive had my fair share of people ripping off original designs Ive molded, but if you are in this game, thats chance you have to take. Anyways anyone can make 10-15% change and its their design. I can add a vent somewhere and its a new design. Ive seen dealerships get copy kits and paint and install them and sell at full pop to the unwise buyer. Sometimes the dealership knows and sometimes they are victim also. Yeah sucks huh? I agree.
4. Very true you get what you pay for; but im eliminating a lot of worries and some doubt that since Im buying it first and test fitting. Who knows I could get a kit that is bad quality or worse a box of rocks. However i can make necessary adjustments and a make a new mold to supply anyone interested in saving a few G's. I can and will post all the pics on here to show everyone the test fit and final result as long as this deal is good w/ this Ebayer. If not and it falls through, well then i guess i wasted my time and breath for now. My loss not yours.
Its funny, i bet you would be quick to give reference for a dealership offering Cayennes below cost to other users whether or not the dealership is bending rules. Im sorry if you are offended, however from the looks of the posts of all these $100K spenders, they really do want to save some cash! Sorry buddy I work 12-15 hrs a day on average and Im sure some others on here do and some dont work a lick of time, so everyones perception of how much an item costs in relation to what they will spend is very different.
