I had the same question. If you check the 04 order guide there is no such option, but the near the end of the guide the title of the pages say "Custom Tailoring and Deviations". In this case on page 21 you will see the one for the wood gear selector. So when this option is selected "SW5 custom tailoring option" comes up automatically in the order.
The reason for this, as I was told, is that during assembly the truck is pulled from the production line when this code is present...it then gets moved to a seperate area and these modifications are taken care of. So in short, think of it as a little reminder on the production line "To Do List" pretty cool huh?? I guess these are the things your learn at the factory!

That's really interesting stuff. I guess it's just a nice little reminder that your Cayenne will definitely be different than most any other on the road. Congrats on the car! Thanks for your help.

Best color is LAPIS BLUE METALLIC

I'll have you know... I have a Lapis Blue Metallic over Stone Grey with Carbon Fiber CTT and it is by far the most manly color combo out there... oh yeah and lets not forget Painted Sport Technos... the Blue is the color
