Default Seatbelt Alert, can we disable it??

Is there a way to disable the seatbelt 'beeping'? While I do wear a seatbelt most of the time, I find it annoying that I have to fasten it when I drive around the block,,,

Thanks!

The Owner's Manual has a "fix" to disable that annoying beep. Snap the buckle together and all should be good.

I posted about this a few days ago, I am guessing the only way to disable it is through a vag-com type computer like the dealer has, at least that's how it is on VW's...

Very funny, Wingless...

Like I didn't see that one coming!

should'a guessed...I see you are from Rhode Island....such polite drivers out there (who wear their seatbelts!)...so annoying to a Brooklyn boy (former) like myself...

Cannot be disabled via programming, use the wire cutters, or wear the seat belt foo

wire cutters? really? will it set off some lights or something?

I do wear my seatbelt 99% of the time, but there are so many beeps and noises it is getting on my nerves sometimes...

There probably is a 'fix' for this but I doubt any dealer has been supplied with any equipment to allow disconnection and hence help to break any laws. I used to be a seat belt ignorer even after it became law in UK but the warning beep, although annoying in the beginning has helped me mend my errant ways.
If you are desperate then why not get a hold of a buckle that will fit the latch (get your local metal workshop to make you up a template off the existing) and leave it located in the slot?? Don't know if it'll work or whether there is pressure activation on the seat as well but if you're hellbent on silencing it then it might be worth a try.
Jeeeeeez, I'm writing my own path to temptation here.....
