Default Cayenne 957 Lights problem

Hi. I am new to this forum & cayenne ownership. My 957 S has just started a dash message "Headlight fault". (Has keyless entry, but no auto-headlights)

Symptoms as follows:
1. On both sidelight and dipped headlight settings on the switch, full beam is available.
2. On sidelight setting, dipped headlights illuminate and full beam available.
3. When you lock the car and walk away, both front parking lights illuminate after about 10 seconds and can only be turned off by unlocking the car. (no rear light illumination)
4. Sometimes the key will not release from the ignition.
5. On a recent 500 mile trip I got an engine oil level warning momentarily and then it disappeared. I checked the oil and found it to be half way on the dipstick. I added about 1 litre and that message has never returned. (Not sure if there is any connection to the lights issue).

I have tried a replacement light switch, but nothing changes.

Any ideas?

I would have the battery checked; these cars car throw all sorts of unrelated codes if the voltage is low. Replace the battery if there is any doubt about its age or condition. (Then invest in a battery maintainer from CTEK or Porsche, and keep it connected to your Cayenne when not driving it.)

This. Especially with the key getting locked in the ignition

Hi Thanks for the input.
Its a new Battery.
Just been into local Porsche agent. Seems the rear washer fluid is leaking out of a perished pipe in right "A" Pillar. Should be a simple replacement of the pipe and dry-out/clean-up the pin terminals on the body control module which it leaks onto under the dash.

Known issue with these cars, hopefully the BCM is OK once sorted out.

I would suggest looking at the cluster screen when exiting the vehicle, with possible low voltage issues as well as microswitch issues, the cluster may show you the issue. when the exterior lights are on after exiting... look at the cluster through the window.

Thanks. Ill check the cluster.
Had it at my local Porsche dealer and they found the rear washer hose leaking onto the BCM so I'll get that all cleaned up, replace the leaking hose section and see if that solves it.

hope that works for you. Another thought crossed my mind with this being a new to you pepper. If someone replaced a light with an led version without properly doing so, the light will work, but throw a fault.
