Default Steering Wheel Noise??

I'm getting a humming noise when I turn the steering wheel on my '04 CS which is somewhat annoying. Only noticable at low speeds or while parked and seems like it is coming from the steering wheel itself. Kind of sounds like the power steering pump with low or no fluid, but it is coming from the steering wheel.
Anyone else experiencing this or had this issue resolved?
I didn't notice this during the first 2,000 miles, but now that's all I hear. Maybe I should just turn up the radio..............
Thanks in advance folks!

Sounds like a nice configuration for the roads around the school ! Congrats !

Perhaps I will see you sometime, I am a "delivery boy" to state college a few times a year.

As for the noise. You do not list Servotronic on the steering so it does sort of point to a steering pump, but I am at a loss why you would hear it inside the car.

I know things like that get hypnotic after a while.

A couple fo questions :-

Is the noise changed by how fast you turn the wheel or is it every oscillation like road bumps etc ?

Does it change with speed ?

Ahhh, State College ~ one of my favorite restaurants is Zola's Bistro on College Avenue.

The noise is a humming noise while pressure is being applied to the steering wheel in either direction. It doesn't change by how fast the wheel is turned.

It's more noticable at low speeds or especially in my driveway or parking lot. At higher speeds the road noise drowns out the noise. It isn't loud, just annoying.

Know it well !!!

Can you check to see if you actually have the servotronic it sounds like that.

Also are you running 42/38 tire pressures ?

No servtronic. I requested servtronic on my initial build, but the dealer discouraged it - so I did not get it.

I have not checked the tire pressure, but I will tonight...
