Default Custom production front brake discs sign up. 957 380mm 6piston

Hi all speaking with some friends and a couple distributors. I have come across a killer deal!

modified GT3 RS 992/ Audi Allroad 2.7TT slotted rotors for the Brembo 18Z 6 piston caliper vevicles.
These will be custom manufactured by Girodisc, there will be a 4-6 week lead time. Here is the sweet part, these will be about $1,200 per pair.
With a commitment from 10 persons they will start the process.

That's great for the Turbo S owners. I have Girodiscs on my 928 and if I hadn't converted my Cayenne to PCCBs, would be #2 on the list

With anything except the 2 largest options, I'd be concerned about warpage on those thinner rotors - the extra diameter of the larger kits increases the heat sink capability to help prevent that, but with the largest setup you're looking at about $3,800 or the equivalent of 3 pairs of the mentioned Girodisc rotors of the proper 380x38 size for $1,200 per pair.

Those are good looking kits, I am thinking more along the lines of increased reliability and performance for the already more than capable Brembo 6 pot calipers at a great price point vs. Stock slabs. Quite honestly I was shocked to learn there were no options offered with this very popular and capable vehicle.

My current stock rotors and pads are not great, there is a metric ton of dust and there is an ever so subtle shimmey when lightly applying the brakes at speeds over 30mph. So brakes are in my future and would like to choose the best option available. . . PCCB not needed no track time for me lol.

Sounds great!
Be sure your vehicle has/ can use 380x38mm rotors. Sorry I only bring up as I do not know if the 955 CTTS used the same, or if you upgraded

The 06 CTTS used a 380mm rotor but 19Z calipers, not the 18Z that they're advertising these kits to fit. I don't know if that affects a thing related to this, as the rotor diameter is right. Thickness I don't know.

FCP Euro says the 2006 CTTS, 955 E81, 957 E81, and 957 CTTS all use the same front rotors.

I’m asking Girodisc about compatibility for 955 CTTS. They’d be a nicer option than the big OE slabs. I figure if they say “yes”, it’s on them if they don’t work. But like theprf says…

If it uses the same rotor, then game on!

I spoke with Doc Wilen about these rotors as well. He had nothing but good things to say about Girodisc and their solid products, he also pointed out once the original rotors are bought, the next time would be just the discs, so like $600.

Very tempting! I'll check with my better half and see what she says... I wasn't planning to do rotors until early next year....and I just bought another boat. I spent a lot of political capital on that one!

Here’s what I just read from Girodisc:

Thanks for reaching out, there appears to be some bits lost in translation as there is some misinformation on that Rennlist post. I did not talk to the original poster but it's my understanding that he called asking for an application that we don't currently offer, and as we always do in these situations, we simply said that if he can get 10 people together, we're happy to make just about anything.

If we do make these rotors, we will not be using our GT3 rotor rings, they will not work for this application. We will be making a dedicated rotor ring and center hat for these if they come to fruition.

Also of note, we have not discussed any pricing regarding these. We won't have a price until we've at least done a full measuring session with the OEM discs.

To my knowledge, the 18z calipers were only ever paired with a 350mm disc, while the 19z had the larger 380mm and to be honest I have no idea which application the OP is after, but we can certainly make either one.

Hope that clears things up a bit, let me know if you have any other questions, thanks!

So pricing may or may not be higher than OE slabs. Can’t wait to find out though!
