Android for my non bose 955?
I am confused by the dozens of Android offerings out there that say optimistically plug and play
I wonder if anyone can recommend one they have fitted and works with a non bose 955?
Thanks, pic of my stock unit attached.

First, remove your PCM and see if it has the fiber optic plug (twin orange cable). If it does, unplug it and see if you still have sound. If you do, then you have the non-external amplified stereo system. You can get any android radio that is made for the 955 and it should work. If you do lose sound, then you have an external amplifier. In that case you’ll also need a MOST fiber optic adapter to get audio with the new radio (android or anything else).

I was under the impression that all Cayenne's have an external amp. In the Bose system, the Bose amp receives it's signal through the fiber optic MOST loop while the non-Bose system has an ASK amp that gets it's signal via hi level speaker outputs from the PCM radio. Maybe I'm wrong though.

All the androids I have found are not suitable for mine as it has only three buttons on the top row, all the ones I find only fit the surround with five top buttons

I'd go with one of the other designs. I've seen the models that come with the shiny bezel that goes around the buttons and sometimes they don't fit as well as the factory bezel. . Also, that 1GB+32GB model will likely be very slow and laggy. You definitely want more RAM than that. These radio's are basically Android phones/tablets. The model you're looking at is similar to a low end prepaid Android phone you can buy at the grocery store. What you want is something that is comparable to a high end Samsung Galaxy phone. You pay more but the user experience is much better. Look into Xtrons and Seicane.
