Angry AC blower keeps running

Hi Guys,

My ac Fan keeps blowing; even after when the engine is switched off ( and no its not the rest button)
It blow on full force and - with the motor running- it doesn't react on the control panel ( which seems fine)
can only shut it off by taking out the 40amp fuse.

any thoughts ?
Did had a leakage at the passenger footwell.
thanks

That's a common issue when the blower motor resistor fails. It's about $40 USD for an aftermarket part or $170 for the OEM part. Part # is 95557234100. Be aware that if the blower runs for too long, it can melt the fuse block at the 40 amp fuse, and/or damage the HVAC control unit as well. Also I'm digging the rare teal color.

Hi 957austin, thanks for this; is a great color isn't; especially with the beige coloured leather inside.
Did also get a aftermarket Tesla style radio in it; only the buttons on the steering needs to be sorted out !

I use the 40 amp fuse to switch it off after I turned the motor of :-)

While you're in there, replace the blower motor as those will fail over time too. You have to remove the glove box first and while it isn't difficult, it is still a bit of a PITA.

I'd be surprised if a 955 is different, but in a 957 you definitely DO NOT have to take out the glovebox to replace the blower motor, which also risks breaking a bunch of the trim.

I just did mine last month. The job was much harder in the 997, but in the Cayenne it drops right out the bottom of the passenger footwell after removing 6 or 7 screws from the housing. Whole job was like 30 minutes start to finish.

I buy most of my parts from FCP Euro but the blower from Amazon was under $50 and works just fine.
