Soliciting advice for my first world problem
TL;DR version -- four cars and only three garage bays. Do I keep the '09 Cayenne or the '15 minivan?
Long version:
My wife's DD is a 2009 Cayenne S, bought it CPO with about 40k miles. Currently has 126k miles and is all up to date on services. Runs perfect. Interior is in amazing shape but exterior has some dings and scratches from careless souls in the parking garage at her work. Her new iPhone won't work on the old PCM however and it prompted looking at newer Cayennes. We found a CPO 2020 and she fell in love so we brought it home last week. Our third car is a 2015 Mazda 5 that we use as the family truckster around town, home depot runs, etc. There are probably a dozen times in a year that having a vehicle with three rows of seats comes in handy for moving people. The Mazda only has 43k miles on it and is perfectly cromulent for what we need. But it is not very comfortable and is rather boring to drive. Also no heated seats or steering wheel which I've become accustomed to having. I know, I know, first world problems. I'm probably about 52/48 in favor of keeping the Mazda for pragmatic reasons, but my inner 12 year old would love to have nothing but Porsches in the stable and is making a lot of noise in favor of keeping the Cayenne. Keeping all four vehicles is not an option.
So, esteemed Rennlisters, if this were your conundrum, what would you do?

Keeping a minivan over a Cayenne LOL
Dump the minivan, take 2 cars when you need 3 rows of seats and get a utility trailer for the Home Depot and trash runs or trade the van on an inexpensive used pickup that you leave outside.

I vote for option C - sell both the Mazda and the Cayenne, kick in an extra $15k and you'll be able to get this:
Wood Paneling, Wire Hubcaps And Turbo Graphics? Pay $27K For This Chrysler Town & Country And You Get It All | Carscoops
Does everything the others do, only better. TURBO! Wood paneling, room for 7, will get massive respect on those Home Depot runs.

ROFLMAO!! I like the cut of your jib. However this is one car that would anger my wife more than bringing home another 914, so in the interest of keeping the peace I'll have to let this beauty go home to another family.

That has Clark W. Griswold written all over it.
I'd say keep the Cayenne over the Mazda. 955/957s have proven to be very durable and it should last a long time to come. For the few times a year that you need something bigger, either take two cars as Pete said or rent something. Same for the Home Depot runs.
Plus it's cooler to have a classic Porsche than an old minivan.

FYI This is a porsche forum…. What do you expect?
Keep the cayennes!
other ideas:
Find a friend willing to swap Suburban (or whatever) for a Cayenne on those days you need more room. He’ll be stoked.
You could also go CX-9 for three rows and a modest mix of dignity and practicality….
Ha ha just kidding keep the cayenne and drive them both when needed.

If you have a Panamera (per your sig) and a 2020 Cayenne, 09 Cayenne seems like a goner. You had some good times with it, I hope, but it makes no sense. B/w the Panamera Turbo for fun rides and a 2020 Cayenne, I just don't see when you'd ever NEED to use the 09.
If you ask me, the Mazda5 is also on the short list. Get rid of that too, and your dream of all Porsche fleet will become a reality. Get a 911 instead to fill that lonely 3rd garage
Though I do miss my Mazda MPV I had before the Cayenne - that thing was awesome for home improvement store runs. One time I was in Ikea and they had a fridge on clearance. No problem, fridge came home with me. Couldn't do that with a Cayenne and its pathetic cargo capacity (compared to a minivan).

I know, and these are really the only points in favor of keeping it. Whichever one we keep, it will still fulfill DD duties as the Panamera is our fun car for nice days. I'm not afraid to take it out in the rain, but right now the roads are riddled with salt and potholes so I'm driving the Mazda. To be fair, while I would love to own three Porsches, we don't need three cars, much less four. But our oldest will be learning to drive in a few years and it would be more sensible for him to take over a car like the Mazda. Between sports and hobbies, it would be better for him. Or we could downsize to just two cars until the time comes for him to start driving and then get something sensible. I'm still mulling this over...

957 is a tank
If you’re considering safety because of an upcoming driver, I can tell you I restored an ‘09 S for my daughter to drive when she turns 16.
My 80 year old mother totaled my last ‘09 S in a head on with a ‘39 Ford Coupe. She walked away. Was a no brainer when my wife asked what to get for our new driver.
