Default did I just total my car?

I was replacing the passenger side valve cover gasket and was cleaning the surface of the head to re-install the valve cover and just noticed that I bent this:

Just gently bend back or is it game over?

ok, more research... I bent the tone ring finger right where it attaches to the center part. I'm headed to the hardware store to get a propane torch to heat it before I bend it back.

Any other advice?

Not really. Bend it back without it snapping and it should be fine. If it snaps you have to do a camshaft R&R.

I went and got a butane torch, heated it and bent it. I rotated the engine to make sure it doesn't hit the magnet, so I'm going to call it good and reassemble.

Got it reassembled, car runs fine, no issues. Thank goodness. I thought I just cost myself a bundle

Seems to be a common mistake as I’ve seen it mentioned in several threads about VC gasket replacements. Glad you got it fixed and good idea about heating it first!
