Default Tire pressure for long storage

I'm going to store my CS for a while (over a month), The dealer suggested that I inflate all 4 tires (50 to 60 psi) not to develop flat spots or whatever its called

I have Michelin Diamaris 20" rims , and on the tires it says (Never inflate over 40 for flat beads) I have no clue what that is?

So what do you suggest? could it be that the dealer gave me that advice based on if I have the standard tires but not the 20" rims?

So should I inflate the tires or not?

Thanks a lot guys,

Call Tirerack. They know tires, and will gladly tell you what to do.

It would not hurt to lift the vehicle and rest it on jack stands, as shown in this post: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...hreadid=109174

While we are talking about tires, anyone reccomend the best "winter" tire for the "DC" area that will fit on the set of 18" rims I purchased for my winter shoes?

I have Cont's 4x4 MS tires on them currently... My Cayenne came with P-Zero's on the 19" rims.

Any help or "links" if anyone can remember if this thread was covered in detail is appreciated in advance.

i see nothing wrong with the conti m+s tires that you have-with the awd and psm, you should be able to get thru almost anything.

That's sounds good as the winters here are pretty tame! Thanks

Inflating to a higher pressue will help, just don't exceed the max pressure for the tire (for Diamari's, I think that's 50 psi).

Mazximum tire pressures are set with variable loading in mind (potholes, dips). Since storage would be a static load - 50lb should be OK (You would get less of a flat spot than with 40.

Hello guys,

Thanks a lot for your inputs. I inflated all 4 tires to 50 psi, however, the car looked higher from the front, and it actually looked a little weird!

I just wanted to ask, what does a flat spot mean? My guessing that some spots in the tire would be out of air. But wouldn't the air inside the tire even itself once I drive again?

Guys I'm clueless about tires, please help me to learn something new
