Default From auto. to manual mode automaticaly

It happened twice to my car to jump from auto. to man. mode by itself.

Here's how it happen both times:
Driving slowly in traffic there was a need for me to realy step on the gas either to avoid accident or just to jump quick on another lane and my car jumps from 2nd-D to 1st gear Manual and stays there almoast to redline, I had to shift up on tiptronic othewise it would stay on 1st gear.

Has this happen to any of you guys yet??? Is this a problem or is just the way tranny should perform?

Thanks,
John.

Is there any possibility that you are hitting the shifter on the steering wheel by accident?

Due to their position it is very possible, and they respond even when in Auto mode.

Sounds like you inadvertently pushed the tiptronic steering wheel buttons by accident like DanP said. Regards. Mike

Here we go: it happens every time, if I'm driving slow on D2 and just floor it, it jumps to M1 right of way and stays there...

Have your shop check your software revision... Sounds like the computer is acting up and perhaps you have an older firmware version controlling your tranny...

Just speculation...

Good point JFScheck, I'm gonna have that checked out, since I'm taking it tomorow to the dealer for air bag light, bad fuel sender etc...

Thanks.

John Gazivoda.
