Point taken though.

OP, nice buy. Should be a blast to drive and no moon roof might save some potential water ingress headaches.
I took it to Utah Motorsports park. That track is fun. In most sections you alternate between a lot of throttle or brake…

Marshall reported “bright orange glowing rotors” at the end of the long front straight hauling down from 120 ish to turn in, which was maybe 40 MPH?

I did eye the barrier a couple times out the corner of my eye, thinking a soft pedal would not be good here…

You are welcome to ride shotgun, but bring yours instead!

I don't want to start a war on this subject, but, it just irritates me a bit when over the years, I always hear, "Your brake disc's are warped".
What actually happens, is, brake pad material gets embedded unevenly on the surface of the disc, giving what feels like a warped disc.
The whole process would be too long an explanation here, but, just as ball park example. Brakes see approx 400deg f in normal use. A track day could push that to 1000deg. Cast iron in brake disc's would need 2000 plus to be able to warp.

It’s the exclusive Marine blue CTTS colour over a black extended leather interior, no Aluminium aero kit and no moon roof but all other boxes were ticked.

Aiming to get a new left headlight as it’s condensation cloudy, PCCM+ is on the list for apply play and in two minds about the secondary cat bi-pass (any thoughts?)… it’s a beast of a car but much too quiet!
Hey, congratulations on your new CTS! I had a few calls with the seller on it when it was advertised, Birmingham area? It's an excellent colour and sounds like it has been looked after. I ended up with a black one after looking at a number and it's awesome! Mine has the opposite issue to yours though, it has had the rear box deleted and stainless straight piped back to the tips, sounds amazing but it is the only non standard part and I want mine to be completely stock as I have a thing about my cars being as they left the factory. If your rear box is ok what about a swap? You get the noise, I get the standard? Worth an ask anyway.

Cheers

Mat

Hi Mat,

would love to chat about this… and hear about your car also. Still unsure about the cat bi-pass as haven’t even had the car for a week yet!

please PM me.

I can't do the PM thing, I presume I need more posts! Anyway, I'm not far from Chester, if you happen to be around these parts then we should meet up, you can hear what a louder Turbo S sounds like! I was very tempted by yours but in the end, mine is the exact spec I was looking for, tin top, black over black, silver trim, has had a lot spent on it and just under 80k miles. It's now at a specialist having full service and fluid change and will be back early next week, can't wait!

Evening!

Any of you guys running 955 Turbo S got summer tyre recommendations? I have a set of winter Scorpions on now and a spare set of rims with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on but they could do with being changed as a post winter treat. What are you guys using? Strictly road tyres.

Thanks

Mat

Thanks but a forum search showed the most recent relevant tyre post as being 2018, 5 years ago, things have moved on! I thought worth an ask for current options but thanks for the reply anyway.

How are you getting on after a couple of weeks in? I'm finding myself grinning like a fool between petrol stations! Have you decided on upgrades or just enjoying it? I had mine back last week, full run through front to back, all new fluids, full service, coolant system refresh just to be sure and it's awesome, drives like a dream. Not sure where you are in the UK but if you want to catch up then give me a shout, I have sent you a PM too.

Enjoy!

Getting on well! It’s an absolute beast of a car. Drinks like an elephant, averaging 10.8mpg around town for errands. Did 16.8 on a 100 mile stint the other week. Only fill with Super but can’t have this car and not be prepared for that!

Have it booked in on the 2nd April for a service and inspection. Will do all the fluids and filters as you did.

I’m getting an intermittent O2 sensor warning pop up every now and then so need that sorted and also need the ‘Service due in 1200 miles’ light gone!

Are your TPMS sensors working btw? Previous owner had mine deactivated so toying with getting new ones.
