Really? Even after you've tried programming similar/ matched ballasts?

It's impossible waters to navigate due to all the Chinese knock offs.

You’re still in the wrong forum for a 958.2.

Post your questions here:

Someone with a PIWIS-3 might be able to help you locally

958.1 ballasts are same size as 957 ballasts but are definitely programmed differently. Not interchangeable at all. Installing 958.1 ballast on a 957 causes the CAN network to go down, so wipers, radio, headlights malfunction.
958.2 ballasts are different. I haven't tried programming either 958.1 or .2 ballasts.

957 ballasts are no issue, even the several Chinese knockoffs I've come across.

Not sure if buying new headlights will help you with programming, as I don't know if 958.2 requires programming. I could maybe give it a try, but I'm out of town this week. If you're not in a hurry, maybe.
