Your salesperson is supposed to submit the notification of your delivery to Navteq when you took it from the dealer.
Porsche have already paid Navteq and they should be just waiting for the call off.
When I got mine originally, it took 6 days for the package to arrive. When I bought the update it took 3 days.
I would call Navteq, they may be able to check to see if your salesperson did their job. Have your VIN number handy, and also check the PCM for what verison of SW its using. I seem to recall you hold the MAIN and TRIP in together and then select VERSION. It will be either version 2.0 or 3.0 they will need to know that.
Good Luck
Mike

Hello guys,
Does NavTeq provide a new updated version CD for the Cayenne. Or you are only talking about a replacement for your CD.
Here in Boston with the new Big Dig and new roads, an update is a MUST. it just always lead you to the worng way !!

Any word if the data (new road data) from the "Big Ditch" is on the new NAV cd's yet? Heading up North in a two months and I plan on the Cayenne leading through Boston!

I'm pretty new to this stuff and completely clueless on how these things work, but isn't the navigation system in our cars controled by the satelites and if there are new roads satelites will guide you the right way anyhow.???

Not quite
Here's an example
On Rt 80 West, above State College PA there is a newish split highway south, straight into Penn State, brings you out at the stadiums.
When you drive it, even on Version 3.0 of PCM, the map says you are driving over farmers fields because it has not made it through the mapping data companies yet.
Typically mapping systems run about a year behind, sometimes more.
While the satnav system can tell you exactly (+ or - 3ft) where you are on the planet, it knows nothing of mstreets or roads. Commercial Nav units are a little less precise.

Here's what really puzzles me - I have a Nav system in both my Cayenne as well as the 2000 740iL I just gave my dad (last update was in late 2001); the CD that is in the BMW has more detail than the CD that is in the Cayenne.
There are roads that the Cayenne doesn't even recognize (just shows open fields) whereas the BMW Nav CD has these roads properly charted.
The CDs are not interchangable so it's a bit odd/disappointing to find that a NavTech CD for a 2000 vehicle has better detail than a 2004 ver 3.0 Cayenne.

Yes; should have mentioned that - they're both from Navtech. I talked with someone from Navtech and they said that the level of detail depends on what exactly the manufacturers (in this case Porsche vs BMW) contract for.
