Now that I've had some time to play with the unit I'm pretty happy with it, I have no regrets going the OEM route following the death of my PCM 2.0.
I checked "loudness" and set the "USB Volume" to +5 under the "car" settings and it's as loud as I would ever want it to be. I'm still not 100% sure about the sound quality, it feels a little lacking in the mid range so I'll be curious to hear some more experiences. There's no parts list in the box, if the separate MOST box had a number on it I don't have access to it anymore. Additionally I'm seeing that I installed the mounting plate upside down, hopefully that doesn't cause any issues?

I can't comment on CD player functionality, I bypassed the 6disc changer with an optical loop when I set up a Denison system and left the loop in place. I don't know if you can keep the 6 disc as the PCCM+ includes the same loop. This seems like an oversight but the optical drive is just a novelty to me that was almost never used.

For those of you curious about inputs and such see attached.

Looks nice. Peel off that protective film for me. It's very satisfying... no going back!

Seriously though, that's a sharp color combination. Is the paint black? I have all Havana beige but swapped my steering wheel for black. Maybe I'll keep adding more black.
Also noticed the manual transmission. Seeing that R reminded me of my 928 and the time I almost hit a bystander accidentally starting her in reverse.

Back to the protective film though... I 'm curious if others can make the screen buttons work while wearing gloves. I recently found out I can with mine, wearing winter leather gloves. That fact and the ***** make it very winter friendly.
Maybe this is a case of older technology being slightly better?

Thanks,
Whoever specced this car broke the mold, I would be surprised if there's a similarly equipped manual Vr6 on the planet. The exterior is "Marine Blue Metallic" with stainless and aluminum trim accents. The interior is Natural Leather Chestnut/Black with a thin black steering wheel. Here's an interesting reference point for everyone who thinks the PCCM+ is expensive, the PCM 2.1 was a $3,070.00 option in 2008.

This might be the only protective film I get to peel off of a Porsche, I'm going to savor it haha. Who needs gloves when you have a heated steering wheel?

Very nice!
Ha, I never warm up my car... just jump in and take off to work, and this morning it was in the 20's. Then I keep my down coat on, so after things warm up I don't keep the heat too cranked.
I do enjoy the heated steering wheel. Nice that it just turns on.

Installed my Seicane Android 12 unit yesterday, and I’m very happy with it so far. Wireless CarPlay is terrific to have.

Most of my steering wheel controls work, except for the Up & Down arrows…but I’ll be attempting to resolve that shortly.

The nicest surprise is the immense improvement in sound quality from the Bose system. The lows and mids have substantially more punch, even in flat EQ settings. I’m now even more excited to make the leap to Burmester speakers!

The only downside thus far has been the loss of physical ***** and buttons, but I expect I’ll train myself out of that need fairly quickly. The overall functionality of this thing is great so far!

We’ll see how well things hold up.

Overall, my initial impressions are very strong for this much cheaper alternative to the other options out there.

Has anyone had a Check Engine light pop up after installing theirs or an aftermarket unit?

My light popped up right after the install scanner reads "P1530 Time information via CAN missing" or from google "camshaft adjustment bank 1 fault".

Initially I thought this was a coincidence but after taking it to a local independent shop for a diagnostic they're saying it's related to the CAN system electronics, they suggested installing a new battery which I did (a larger H9 AGM) and it's still popping up after clearing.

I saw another post in the 958 forum about this code popping up after someone installed an aftermarket head unit so I'm starting to think it's related to the install of my PCCM+.

I hope this isn't derailing the thread but it could be useful down the line as I think I'm one of the first to install this in a 957.

I just pulled the PCM related fuses, cleared the code and restarted the car 3 times in my driveway, so far no CEL has popped back up.

The only other things on the infotainment canbus line are for some reason the headlights, wipers, and I forget what else.
Not trying to bash your indy... sure they're just trying to be helpful. But no connection between camshaft and CANbus.
My .02.

It's possible my google search result for that code isn't correct.

My dealer said there wasn't any programming required for the PCCM+ but I'm wondering if I'm missing something on the install.

Is there a formal install guide available anywhere yet?

Is there any info whether this will support 06-08 Cayennes with a PCM 2.1?

I have a ‘07 MY fitted with stock PCM 2.1 and an optional CD changer, which I hope will be still supported by PCCM+ since I have tons of CDs.

Was your Seicane install plug and play? In the market to upgrade a 2004 CTT and trying to decide which one.

Thanks

btw I used all caps on CANbus because it's an acronym... wasn't trying to shout or anything.

No one asked but I recommend these folks. https://www.erisin.com/collections/for-porsche-406
Get one with ***** and dedicated buttons. Not for nostalgia, but so you can have better control and not crash.
Just today I was adjusting the EQ when I needed to check my turn. Hit the Nav button and simultaneously lowered the volume instantly. Can't imagine trying to hunt and peck on the screen to do that while driving.
I broke my femur driving into the back of a tractor trailer that pulled out in front of me while I was distracted with a Garmin GPS so I'm more sensitive to distractions now.

Dario, some of the units in the link have CD/DVD players built in. All plug and play. Free customer service through friendly Chinese ladies using google translate and myself through this board.

I'd prefer staying with everything OEM.

So the PCCM+ won't connect to 6-disc CD changer?
Guess I'm staying with PCM 2.1 then.

My 2008 Cayenne GTS is at the dealer today getting the PCCM+ installed! I was able to get my hands on one from Suncoast, will post pics as soon as I get it back later this afternoon. I am so excited, I love this car and hope to keep her running for a long time (if possible: fingers crossed). The old PCM/Nav was the only thing holding back my full enjoyment of this car. To be able to have bluetooth and carplay will be a big game changer, and its OEM!

Nice, did you get any info about the CD changer integration? (If you have one in your GTS)
