Now if its 40 deg outside, and I drive it back and forth to the store (3 miles one way at about 32-50 mph), it will read about 15 mpg overall for that 6 miles.
I run front and rear tires at 49 lbs cold. One reason is the handling. The other is that the overall tire diameters are the same front and back, so that the x-fer case has less internal stress.
160K miles.

I got the job done. I think there was a lot of pressure up against the firewall to get them to clear...hopefully nothing was damaged. If I had to do it over again, I like the approach of using the transmission as the jack point, but I think I would have loosed the subframe bolts to get a little extra clearance (just so everything didn't go so jammed against the firewall).
In the end, it was worth it. Everything is nice and quiet now. Actually, quieter than when I first bought it with 80k miles. I had always wondered why it was a little rough even though the tach was stable. Eventually it got to the point where it was obviously the mounts.

The process is the same it is just a lot easier. I like to take out the air box (boxes on V8). If you cannot work by feel you can also take out the inner fenders. There is a small space that allows you to see them better. I loosened mine and jacked the engine as high as I could then tilted it and swapped one then tilted the other way and swapped the other. Each mount has 2 bolts on the bottom and 1 nut on the top. This is a very simple one man job. I have a video for the V8 but it is not great.

I would say it was a 3/10 difficulty, but I also had a helper. With no helper, it would be a lot more difficult. I think the biggest issue/concern was getting the clearance to replace the mounts means you have to squish stuff and just hope it doesn't break. It worked OK on my end, but who knows. If you jack it up too much or if you have some brittle lines, then stuff may crack. Just not sure about that.

The V6 is a very simple job. Pull the inner fenders so you can see a little better but it is not necessary. I took the 1 top nut off each side and 2 bolts from the bottom both sides. I jacked the engine up I think on the harmonic balancer. I jacked it up until I heard the engine touching the firewall. At that point the mounts just fell out. To go back in I put one side in by leaning the engine to the opposite side then leaned it to the other side and put the second one in. I only have pics for doing the V8 but I have done the V6 also. It is very simple. If you take the fenders out you will also want to take the air box out. I don’t remember unbolting the trans mount but it sounds reasonable that it may help. I have not done this job in about a year or two but it does make a huge difference.
