Ok everyone… I have found a Turbo S 09’ with under 80k near me. The dealer says they are gonna send it to auction cause it’s smoking, they got in on trade in. They want $18,900. As of right now I’m waiting for an inspection report, picture and a video of the engine running to hear for note scoring. If the engine seems to be good, what could be causing the issue and does it make sense considering the value of a relatively low miles Turbo S?

I’ve found one through a guy my relatives have used to purchase cars at auction. At an auction in PA is a 2008 Porsche Cayenne GTS with 132,000. It’s red on tan without any major options but it’s not stock. The carfax indicates that the car is 3 owner, the first 2 drove it in Sacramento up until 110,000 and 18 months ago. It shows decent service records and a small accident that was repaired at a shop that had since closed, but is very reputable. It’s rated at 4.5/5 which is surprisingly good, comes with 18” and A/T tires which I’d like to have but I’ll need to get some 21” with High Performance tires. I’m thinking if I offer $12,000 I could probably get it but I’m concerned that it could’ve been bore scored during its miles in PA. Is this a real concern even though it’s mostly a CA car?

If you purchase this there is a nearby Cayenne salvage dealer with a set of OEM GTS wheels with like new Continental Extreme Contact tires.
$1800.
The weather here in VA is very similar to PA. I have not experienced bore scoring on my 2004 CS or the 2009 GTS.

2004 S with about 85K mi when sold was here for about 4 years.
No significant issues with either one.

At least. Turbo Ss are currently undervalued and should be $20k more than GTSs. There were only 418 of them in the US and eventually the market will realize the rarity and adjust like they have for many of the other Porsche models recently.

Resale Values don't actually matter to me as I'll never sell any of my Porsches, so as long as my insurance covers my investment, that's all I care about. My Cayenne is on an AV policy for 6 figures.
