Default 9600 miles & first wash....

I wanted to wait until 10,000 miles, but the bride & Easter forced me, Grrrrrrrrrrrr. This is my work car so my car hygeine schedule is different than most. The car looks good & seems faster (I don't know why that is...)

My 9600 mile performance report: I'm getting about 12-12.5 mpg, since I'm doing all city driving. My tire outside edges are wearing, which is normal with factory tire pressures. My experience w city driving is (fronts) a 1lb above factory pressure, cause usually tires run cooler with short trips (my avg less than 10 miles). No oil consumption since 5K. All other systems OK.

Great truck, very pleased.

I bet Torags is cleaning the cab twice a day to keep his manic compulsion under control, so his water-usage-balance isn't any better than ours.

The nicest description I can use for Torags Cayenne, is: Rain Water Clean.

Default which tire do you have?

Do you have the bridgestone's? I've got just over 10K on my CS, and I had to order a new set of front tires. Was totally shocked when I noticed the inside edge of both front tires is worn smooth.

I mentioned a diagonal cupping to the dealer when I had it in for service about 6 months ago (I was thinking too much toe out), dealear said is was normal for turanza's to wear horribly, and the alignment was fine (although, didn't see anything on the work order about checking the alignment).

I run 42 in all tires and check pressure somewhat frequently. (never had a tire below 39.5).

Is it normal to expect to change tires more frequently than you have to change the oil?

Torags,

After you washed the vehicle, did you notice a reduction in the vehicles weight? The weight of grime and dirt can add up. Might even improve your gas milage now that the vehicle is clean.

Matt C, rain water clean is great.

Karl, that reduction in weight might have been the reason I thought the truck was faster, Hmmmmmmm. But I miss the green glaze created by the pine pollen... Oh and the "patina" of brake dust...

;-)
