Driveshaft center support bearing feedback
#31
In the length of time it took to read this thread you could have already done the Jimi fix. I did mine last night with hose and zip ties I already had lying around my shop. It literally took 45 minutes start to finish. It cost me nothing and I feel like I have a new car. It fixed problems I didn’t even know I had. I thought my suspension was worn out but apparently it was just the center support. Thanks Mr Jimi.

Yes, this is absolutely true. But you are also assuming someone cannot screw up the genius that is the Jimi fix, which I absolutely did screw up in my own case on my 08 base model :-). Some say one cannot cure stupid, but I've spent years trying to in my own situation.

I must say, I regret not just doing the Jimmy Fix…
I'm still working on tuning out my vibrations. They’ve certainly reduced quite a bit, but I’m still getting some around 1200 RPM (could be motor mounts), and at highway speeds.
That said, JXB has been very responsive to my needs. I’m going to try a few more things before I wave the white flag.

What ended up working for me was first greasing the bearing, then attaching the top and bottom of the support before installing the brace. I then installed the brace but left all 6 bolts slightly loose. Drove 5 miles or so and then added two fender washers to each of the 6 brace bolts and tightened it all up. Have now driven over 100 miles and have felt no vibrations at any speed.
Hope this helps.
