957 Engine Transplant Parts List
I may be doing a redundant thing here, but as I am hoarding components in to replace my scored CTT motor, I decided to keep a list of what's been ordered. Why am I sharing this? Well, honestly, if anyone has to go through this down the road, maybe this will serve as a helpful list for you to put together as part of a shopping list. Might also help you budget. Most of this has been about preventative maintenance without what is generally agreed upon as a necessity in the process, an LN long block setup. So with the elephant in the room addressed, here's where I sit, missing a few pieces I imagine, but... it's been a very unhappy blur. Also I left off the crankcase breather lines, and coilpacks/spark plugs since those are all being pulled from the current motor as they all have less than two thousand miles on them. There are a couple bundle 'kits' there with things like radiator, PS cooler, A/C Condenser rolled into one.

Oh water distributor is on there :-) as well as the hoses alongside it. As well as the updated main coolant line that runs under the intake manifold (Porsche's update was to go from plastic to aluminum) the Vacuum pump's in the wheel well isn't it or is there another one?

94811005007. Bugger. Well, it's a good thing I'm out weeks still. Also the purpose of this thread. Crankshaft Positioning Sensor, Oil Pressure Sensor. Got it. I am hoping for good news about HVAC lines being usable, but imagine that's going to be an issue. Turbocharger components as well. Waiting for the worms at this point

on hand but not listed are LiquidMoly products (beyond Ceratech) two oil filters, engine additives (again LM) coolant, lots of coolant, correct PS fluid, and I was serious when I said there are a lot of things just labeled Porsche Engine Coolant pipe.

I expect them to. That may be a situation where I consider salvage (only talking about the cats here) if they're as degraded as I imagine they're going to be (given how things have gone so far.) The Salvage motor comes with pre-cats already installed (which is nice) and even the exhaust headers look, dare I say it, -clean- which is pretty cool. But aesthetics count for nothing if they're filled with dirt daubers in the end.

Engine mounts were first on the list and part of the largest order I placed out of the gate. I am -hoping- (but this, like seals and accessories for the Turbos is probably going to bite me) that I can hold off on upper and lower control arms, tie rod assemblies, and wheel bearings. I'm at the right mileage where -all- of that is due to be serviced, and honestly that was my plan for the summer. Unfortunately Cylinder 8 had other ideas, so I'm pushing them out.
Again, I am extremely grateful for things I know I'm going to miss/forget here. Yes I know they're not engine items, but they -are- 'while you're in there' and while I can pull hubs and take them somewhere to have new bearings installed (which is how I had planned to do that and then change out the control arms and tie rods) it'd be nice to save that for another day.
Also; one -really weird- observation. The Water Manifold has several unused outlets. That's not the weird part since I know the powerplant is a shared motor. What -is- interesting is that the plug used these lines is the same part number as the oil plug.
