Default 04 cayenne base model 3.2

hello everyone i am new here and new to the porsche family. i recently picked up this porsche because ive always wanted one and had to do some much neglected maintenance to it. well once i thought i was done the transmission decided to start diwnshift kind of hard after the car has reached operating temperature. i have purchased fluid and everything required to do the transmission service on it. from what i have read the valve bodys tend to go out on these quite a bit but while in manual mode the car seems to shift well. i also noticed while going up a hill its at a loss of power. i would like to know if anyone can shed some light that may have had this issue? maybe clean the valve body solenoids. i have more information i just wanted to get this started without having to big a post. than you so much for reading!

Is there a change in the tone of the engine when you get the loss of power? I had this symptom and it cleared when I replaced the coil packs.

i havent noticed to much of a change in engine tone. did yours have a rough idle at cold start or when just driving and than stopped waiting to go again?

Yes, I had a rough idle at start that cleared as the truck warmed up and under throttle.

Congrats on your Cayenne. I experienced hard shifting, particularly 5-4, 4-3 downshifts were brutal after things warmed up. It didn't show up in my original test drive because it takes awhile for the trans to warm up. I did the Revmaxx valvebody 30k miles ago it's been awesome ever since.

Thank you for the information guys, i did buy the car with no prior history of what has been done. i went ahead and got all the stuff to service the transmission because i am experiencing the hard downshifts and its almost like the car bucks forward. the funny thing is it is not throwing any codes besides one which is a 11724 which is a oil pressure sensor 1 transmission and this is on the drive train diagnostic. so im assuming it may be valve body related as well as a coil pack issue on the rough idle..just not sure

Mine didn't throw any codes but it did try to throw me out of the seat when it would shift....just kidding. It was a harsh downshift and sometimes upshift. Not hard to change at all once you've dropped the pan and the filter.

ok so when dropping the pan i know this is probably a dumb question but do you think there is a possibility if i changw out the fluid and filter with the proper procedure because i have everything i need to do it this may fix the problem? or do you think that clean the pressure sensor that the trans is throwing the code for may fix it or overall should i just replace the valve body? sorry im asking so much i jjst dont want to dump money where it dont need to be dumped. also do you know where that transmission oil pressure sensor 1 would be and if just that is interchangeable? it is a 17224 code. one other thing qhen you say not hard to carnage you mean messing something up? and is the valve body hard to change and expensive. do you happen to have a part number for the base 3.2 model.

I was having consistent 'thunks' at low speeds. I had my mechanic do a transmission service and it cleared up. It's still good several tens of thousands of miles later.
