Default Actual temp V gauge temp

Question for the experts
have been bringing my new to me cayenne 957 3.6v6 up to date with servicing bits.
have a temp issue in that when driving under load or uphill the temp on gauge goes from halfway to three quarters (80C to 100C)
I changed coolant and temp stitch at bottom left of rad plus thermostat and still the same , I did have a leak but that’s now sorted and vac bleed .

I plugged in the maxicom Mk 808 and it’s showing 110C water temp and 105C oil temp when at 100C on the gauge , I presume from this I’m fine and gauge is out.

what’s the acceptable range for the water temp ?? And both fans come on at @30% duty

when I pull in the big fast fans off and the hose it’s in is cold(bottom left of rad) , if I plug out sensor fast fan comes on full speed ???

Tks in advance

The oil temp gauge should be accurate. The coolant temp gauge is heavily buffered and really not a gauge, but an idiot light disguised as a gauge. My US car coolant temp gauge shows straight up in the center of the gauge all the time, whether the temp is 175 F or 214 F. At 214 is when my cooling fans kick on. I know my actual coolant temp as I have a p3 vent gauge installed in the car to the OBD2 port and it usually stays on the coolant temp setting, but I'll also use it to check AFRs, boost, etc. The only time I've seen it move is when I was sitting in traffic forever and the separate OBD2 gauge I run showed the actual coolant temp at 220. As soon as we started moving again, the needle went back to the middle.

If you're seeing that much motion from your coolant gauge needle, you may have another issue like an air pocket or a thermostat that is opening slowly so the temp is spiking a bit before it's opening.

cheers for that , it heats up on gauge way to fast as well , 1/3 of the time of any of my other cars . New thermostat and system vac beheld so strange ??

any idea why the bottom hose with sensor is cold while top lines boiling hot , rad is hardly exchanging that amount of heat ????

Sorry, I don't. Seems like you're not getting flow through the radiator if that's the case.
