Default PASM Damper control failed 2004 CTT

Hi, am having a problem making much sense of the damper control system on a 2004 CTT (air suspension), it is locked in sport mode and not very comfortable on a country trip at all, there are no warnings on the dash and the button and corresponding instrument panel indications are all normal and operate as they should. The durametric shows no active fault and the dealers PIWIS also indicated no fault but it definitely stays in sport mode when it is indicating comfort mode, all the research I have done to date does not give many clues and there is scant information out there around this issue. Before I dive in with a multi meter and try to find out where the signals being lost does anyone know if the setting on this model is also affected by road conditions and driving style from external sensors or is it just the program from the selected mode, it will help me understand whether the ECU has other inputs that might drive it into sport mode,
Thanks for any input/help,

Regards,
Horse

My experience on this comes from the PASM system in 987 cars, but the PASM portion of the system is probably very similar. A failure of the PASM system results in the shocks defaulting to a full stiff or Sport setting for safety. Don't want to be driving in a sporty manner have a PASM issue and the suspension go to full soft, so they design it to go to full stiff.

PASM going to dull stiff is usually caused by an issue with the wires that come from the shocks (abraded wire or plug coming loose) or from a shock itself going bad.

Thanks, all of the plugs and wiring are undamaged and the ECU plug and wiring is also OK but will have to grab the multi meter and start wading my way through the continuity and voltage maze I suppose, to see if one damper solenoid is bad . I thought that would throw a code but its not indicating a problem Thanks for the reply
