DRL Side light Error

DRL Side light Error
Hi I bought some of these () for my 957. They come with resistors(decoders) but when I plug the Sidelight ( we call sidelights in Australia Park lights) DRL power from the fuse box acc vacant fuse I found I get a error "check side light". If I disconnect the acc conection to the fuse and the sidelights and indicators are running off the original power harness, I can use the new LED sidelights when i turn the side and headlights on without any errors. So the error shows only when the side lights are on the acc power. I have tried to add extra resistors to the ones supplied and it did not help.
Can anyone please? Do I need to put resistors in the read side lights?
Hope some one can help.
cheers

In my experience, the bulb control module in the Cayenne is very finicky and tempramental. When I did my widebody build I changed my fog lights to PIAA LEDs and no matter what I did to the wiring harness with canbus compatible or traditional resistors, I could not get them to function correctly using the factory wiring. One side would work and the other wouldn't, or they'd flash and then cut off. Since I usually run the fog lights as auxiliary lights, I put resistors on those legs and never hooked up any lights to them. The resistors keep the error light from coming on. I ended up wiring those lights to the parking light circuit so they come on all the time when any lights are on and because they're LEDs, they don't add enough resistance to cause any issues with that circuit. The fog light switch now does nothing, but the rear fog light position does still illuminate the brighter rear light.
The 958 lights also have integrated LEDs as their Fog lights. I wanted DRLs on the Cayenne that don't burn the headlights, so I connected those white LEDs to a spare place in the fuse box that gets 12v whenever the key is not in the off position and now have DRLs. Both those and the lower fog lights stay on all the time, even with the high-beams, which is great on dark, remote roads to illuminate the side areas for animals.
My body kit eliminated the side markers, and I tried resistors on these as well without any success. I ended up putting the regular bulbs back in the sockets, using some clear domes from auto detailing products that fit over those bulb assemblies perfectly and just left them hanging inside the wheelwells and no error lights.
This setup has worked very well for me, but the point is, it's challenging to do anything on the Cayenne with LEDs using the factory wiring, because it doesn't seem to like anything different than the stock incandescent bulbs on those circuits.

Setup with Headlights on. With parking lights on both the DRLs and the fog lights are also illuminated.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Great Setup - love the body kit and ive got exactly the same fuse box set up as you. The DRL lights I bought are an integrated unit with the turn signals. The side lights work with the headlight side light switch by removing the bulbs then plugging the unit into the 5w bulb socket. I'm hoping the DRL lights run on two circuits the regular bulb circuit (for when the regular park lights are on)and the DRL circuit from the fuse box. (which does not use the factory wiring). So like you if i can replace the 5w bulbs back in and let them hang in the cavity behind the lights they'll cancel the errors.
I'll give it ago. If not I'll have to find a way to power the LEDs without using the 5w socket which will be tricky.

hi, i am relatively new here and cannot figure out how to make a new post. so i will reply here.
i just got a 2013 GTS and decided, just like in my previous japanese car, to start changing my bulbs to LEDs. started with the aux high beam that not one single porsche dealer knew what it even was, let alone any details. seriously? like, why is there a second high beam? what do you mean you dont know? i mean i now know and have tested and played around and took photos and videos and i can see what it's doing. that porsche mechanics dont know blows my mind.
as soon as i put the LEDs in, i could swear the alarm started to go off each time i locked the car. sometimes not, sometimes i'd leave the sunroof open and then it didnt trigger the alarm. sometimes i had to lock it 6 times before it stopped triggering the alarm.
i had also just had a read door lock replaced, so i was sure that was the problem, and that my mechanic hadnt reset the codes properly or whatever. i replaced the batteries in the key fob and alas, twice or so it didnt go off, but then it did again. it was driving me crazy! i had to leave the car unlocked repeatedly. (except i now know, from reading the owners manual, always a good idea! that the alarm stops after 30 seconds or so, and then starts again, and then eventually stops but yeah, not cool in a quiet neighborhood.)
anyway. sure enough, when i with a heavy heart replaced the super bright LEDs with the best incandescents i could find, with the appropriate 55W instead of the much lower load of the LEDs, instantly the alarm would stop going off. never had the issue again.
wow, how finecky this car is! i will NEVER touch a light again. MAYBE the fog lights but i shudder to think the effect of that.
btw the LEDs, for a reflector housing, are, as usual, super bright but actually dont shine as far. going 50 on a small street, great! amazing in fact. going 80 on a freeway, useless, and too bright right in front of you, blinding you in fact to the now much darker farther distance, making driving much more painful.
cheers, hope this helps someone.

Hello
I installed LED rear lamps in my 955, after a few days I received an alarm about the front side lights, but they are on! but both turning lights don't work! but there is no alarm for them, checked the wiring harnesses, fuses, new bulbs, test with the original rear lamps and nothing dark!!... I just coded out the turning lights and there is no alarm...
Testet med VCDS The steering sensor works
I suspect something with the ECU
