Default Old items revisited....Homelink, Tail gate closer, Gert? Others?

Since my Cayenne does not have the Electric Comfort Package...

I want to add the homelink and tail gate close assist mechanism.

Can these items be retrofitted to the cayenne? Are there specific part numbers that anyone might have?

I know Gert has the homelink buttons, but I want the whole kit.

Gert? Anyone?

I'd like to add my voice to yours.

1) Having to SLAM the trunk has been a pain, so I want to add the electronic system, any ideas how much would it cost if its avilable.

2) I want to add the dimming mirrior, how much would it cost?

My delaer is sleeping. I've been calling him for weeks and he is still trying to find the answer

Thanks

I always had a very hard time trying to wash my car. After I posted my reply above, I clicked on your link, and I saw the best advice about car washing. It's amazing. But it would be GREAT GREAT and GREAT if you could fix the pictures that goes along with the washing steps. They don't work at all.

Thanks for sharing your experiences

David,

I'm with you on the Homelink "full kit". Have you received any feedback directly?

Guys,

Be advised that the tailgate close-assist motor does NOT obviate the need to SLAM the trunk when closing. If you don't slam it, the motor never catches the latch!

Matt C, I have received no information, unfortunately.

Jeff, It is all relative. If you think you a slamming it, try mine. Sometimes I think I am going to break the glass.

David,

Interesting. I have the Comfort Package on my car that includes the Driver Memory/Homelink options. I have never had to slam the rear trunk to get the motor to catch properly. Just pulling the trunk lid down and allowing it to catch normally seems to trigger the latch and close mechanism. Never once had to slam the lid.

Toby,

That would mean that Jeff's system is not working properly. Gosh I would LOVE to be able to just set the tailgate down gentlely and have it close. I NEED THIS!!!

My dads CT has the Comfort package and there is no comparison. My CS doesent and you have to SLAM it shut, his you just let it fall using its own weight, and it pulls shut.
This, while annoying, doesent bother me as much as the rear-view mirror. Damn thing looks like it fell out of another era.

Guys,

I completely agree with you. SLAMMING the trunk hurt my heart, every time I slam I see the rear wiper jump up, and I'm sure it will fly off soon from how hard this trunk needs to be slammed in order to close.

BJ, I completely agree with you about the mirror, it looks like a KIA mirror or even worse, I actually REGRET not buying the comfort package. BTW, I posted a thread about the soft orange light that comes out of the dimming mirror to light up the console all the times it is BEAUTIFLLLL, and sadly it's not avilaibe in our stone age mirror.

I just had this bright idea - -

I figured that maybe I was slamming the hatch when all this time all I had to do was let the door drop on its own.

So, I went into the garage to try it and, W-R-O-N-G!!

The hatch must be slammed in order to catch the motor. It's not really horribly hard, but you can't just close it normally.

Too bad, could have been a beautiful thing.
