New OZ Canyons on my C TT

Diamaris? hmm, i know most tires, are these SUV specific? Are they sport, all weather or path? anyways, good call on those wheels, and on both your Porsches!
A sample quote:
"The Michelin Diamaris tires are some very, very serious rubber," said Tom Chubb, vice president of marketing, Michelin Automotive Industry Division. "We've used the same tread compound strategy as our Michelin(R) Pilot(R) Sport 2 tires that will outfit the upcoming Carerra GT. The result is an unheard of performance capability for an SUV tire."
Michelin and Porsche worked closely together to develop the perfect tire fit for the unique demands of the Cayenne. The tires are a rare and powerful blend of cornering power, high-speed capability and load carrying capacity. The Michelin 4x4 Diamaris tires also combine awe-inspiring dry road performance with excellent wet cornering and braking characteristics. In addition, the tires are tuned for the Cayenne to deliver maximum ride comfort while minimizing road noise.

No doubt, the Diamaris are great tires for the Cayenne. My TT came equipped with the Continenal 4X4 Sport Contact's and I am very happy with them. According to Tirerack, the Continentals cost about $40 ea less than the Diamaris, and have twice the wear rating (280 versus 140); so cost / mile is half.

Remember that wear rating is only relative when comparing like tires, same manufacturer, etc.
a 280 conti vs a 140 michelin does not mean that the conti will last twice as long.

David, You are right -- I just looked up the definition of this rating, and each manufacturer kind of makes it up on their own as you mentioned. Still, with twice the wear rating number, the conti likely will last longer. This rating is really confusing. Of course the bottom line is, how many miles are we actually getting from these tires? I only have about 5K miles on mine, and they look good now, but it's too soon to tell for sure. Some of you out there must have quite a few miles on your tires by now, how are the tires holding up?

I have 15,000 miles on Continental 4X4 Contact (M&S) on the rear and they have at least 5/32's tread depth on them now. The front tires were replaced at 10,000 miles because of the alignment issue so they only have about 5,000 miles on them. The front tread depth is about 7 or 8/32's. Checking on Tire Rack I see that the new tread depth on these tires is 10/32's. Assuming I replace the tires at 2/32's, the rears will last me 20,000 miles, or maybe a little more. The fronts wear faster and I will probably not get much more than 15,000 on them.

I have one more wheel to show you that I am considering... either this or the OZ canyon II
link: http://dvinciwheels.com/havocblk.html
which wheel would you prefer? They are pretty similar in price... and what do you think about the black on my color car (Titanium)?
I would get it in 20's... with the same tires you have!
Thanks,
Ryan
