Default Whoa is me, ink on my leather seat..

I went to the mountains (in the S) with a new ballpoint pen in my rear pocket.

A few hours after arrival I found ink on the seat back. the high altitude had burst the ink out of the top of the tube. My seats are gray and its verrry noticable.

Has anyone any suggestions for removal ( I tried mineral spirits, to no avail).

Thanks in advance.

There were thousands of hits from a Yahoo search for "ink stain removal", such as this one: http://www.ssan.com/howto/clean/ballpointink.htm

Good luck!

---hey I just thought I would let everyone know... I know I've been talking a crap load on this site the last couple of days lol . I just have a cayenne, have some minor issues and wish to get them resolved so I can get back to enjoying the car. Amen! The cayenne is a great car, but unfortunately no cars are perfect. I really like how we are all able to answer other's questions, etc., after all we are a family!

I've successfully used hairspray to remove ink stains in the past, it would be worth a try.

Best of luck

Would that be the lacquer kind (hard to hold) or the "conditioner" kind (soft hold).

Gentle & patient slow scrubbing with a light solvent should do the trick...

I have a daughter who likes to draw in ink on my Cayenne(my wife's actually) and I use this stuff called "PAINTER'S PAL" spray gel from GOO GONE purchased from Home Depot-works like a charm. I think it's kinda like the orange remover stuff(smells orange) but man works well removing carpet stains too. Give that a try. Mike

Torags,

There is a product called "Amodex" which is an ink remover. I'm a fountain pen buff, and this is the product that all pen afficionados use to remove ink stains, because it does the job.

You can probably get it from any high-end stationer who sells fountain pens, or surely on the 'Net.

Hope that helps,

Jeff

Torags,
The hairspray, general hold style. Not conditioner.
I've had success removing black ink from white carpeting with this method.

Again, best luck!

I tried it. Man, I can't believe it got most of it off. One of my brides "wonderful" products. I used fresh paper towel section with each blot.

It didn't seem to affect the area surrounding. I'll try it again - then if not, the next strongest step.

Thanks to everybody for the tips; I was lost...
