Default Camshaft Position Sensor vs Hall sensor

There are no Camshaft Position Sensors located towards the rear of the engine in my 2008 Cayenne GTS. The intake Manifold is out. but no Sensors anywhere.
another question: what is the function of the two Hall sensors (948 606 106 00) located on the Valve Cover?
The part numbers for both Hall and cam Sensors seems the same hence the question.
I think most of the online pictures of Camshaft Position Sensors are form 955 or 957 S, just want to confirm

Is it possible the two sensors (Porsche catalog calls them Hall Sensors) on the Valve covers are in fact Camshaft Position sensors in 2008-2010 GTS?.

Yeah, what is on the top of the cylinder head that is directly under the sensor when the valve cover is installed? Could be a toothed wheel or a metal tab on the cam adj. mech. Whatever the thing is under the sensor, it will be magnetic to activate the sensor. And I mean the toothed wheel will have at least the ends of the teeth being magnets or a magnet can be embedded in a cast tab and as the cam adjusts, proximity of that magnet to the hall sensor provides position info.

Note "Hall Effect Sensor" describes the technology used in the sensor, it doesn't describe its function in the engine, hence a sensor can be a hall-effect sensor used to check the camshaft-position. There are no magnets required - it's not a reed sensor. It can detect the presence or absence of the metallic finger without the need for a magnet.

Thank you both, just to make sure we are talking about the same thing. Please see below picture and the sensor circled in Red is the part (997 606 106 01) that I am replacing. Is this the Camshaft Position Sensor?
The part I bough looks exactly the same as pictured. As I mentioned in 955 models (not sure 957 S also have it),Camshaft Position Sensor located somewhere else.
Part: https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...=0&SVSVSI=4393
Basically, I would like confirmation that the part being pictured is Camshaft Position Sensor
Thanks again
